How is a ceramic coating on a Santa Fe priced?
After an inspection, not from a list. The shop measures the paint’s thickness and checks the finish under light, then recommends a package, so a new matte Santa Fe and a three-year-old gloss one get different quotes.
| Package | Layers and prep | Surfaces coated |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 layer | Paint |
| Performance | 2 layers, two-stage correction first | Paint, glass, wheel faces |
| Signature | 4 layers, full correction first | Paint, PPF, wheels, glass, trim |
Wheel and caliper coating, glass coating and interior leather or fabric protection can be added to any of them. A Santa Fe spends one to three days in the shop depending on the package, then stays dry for 24 hours after pickup. The graphene-ceramic system itself is explained on the ceramic coating page.
Can the Santa Fe’s matte paint be ceramic coated?
Ask for a matte quote, because the usual prep doesn’t apply. Hyundai Canada’s 2026 Santa Fe card lists Earthy Brass Matte on every trim and Creamy White Matte on the Luxury and Ultimate Calligraphy.
The 2026 Santa Fe Hybrid maintenance chapter sets matte rules of its own:
- No polish of any kind: no polishing detergent, abrasive or polish on the finish.
- Wax off at once: if wax gets on, remove it straight away with a silicone remover.
- Gentle washing: no rotating-brush car washes and no steam cleaners.
- Whole-part repairs: Hyundai says matte damage can’t be spot-repainted; the entire part gets redone.
Polishing is how gloss paint is corrected before coating, and it’s exactly what Hyundai forbids here, so the correction steps built into Performance and Signature don’t carry over. Ceramic coating on matte paint explains what changes, and the shop confirms the approach once it has seen your Santa Fe.
What about the gloss Santa Fe colours?
They take the standard packages. The same card lists Abyss Black Pearl, Creamy White Pearl, Ecotronic Grey Pearl, Pebble Blue Pearl, Ocado Green Pearl, Cyber Sage Pearl and Typhoon Silver Metallic for 2026.
A coating seals the paint as it is on the day it goes on, swirls included. Dark Abyss Black shows wash marks most, so a correction under Performance or Signature usually comes first; whether ceramic coating suits a black car goes into that. Lighter finishes such as Creamy White Pearl and Typhoon Silver hide fine marring better, and there the gain is mostly easier washing.
Which Santa Fe trim pieces and wheels need care?
The chrome grilles, the anodized badges and the alloys. Hyundai Canada fits a premium chrome grille on the Preferred and a premium dark chrome grille on the Ultimate Calligraphy, and Hyundai’s 2027 US spec sheet lists the H logo and SANTA FE lettering in silver anodized finish, or black anodized on the XRT and Calligraphy.
Hyundai’s care notes say chrome-plated and anodized aluminum parts shouldn’t see steel wool, harsh abrasives or strongly alkaline cleaners. Signature coats trim along with the paint, which keeps a mild wash enough.
Wheels run from 18 inches on the Preferred to 20 inches from the Trend Package up, with Calligraphy-exclusive 20-inch alloys on the top trim. Hyundai says the alloys carry a clear protective finish and should never meet polishing compound, solvent, wire brushes or acid or alkaline cleaners, and asks for a rinse after salted roads. Wheel coating can be added to any package.
How do you book a Santa Fe coating in Langley?
Send the year, trim and exact colour, matte or gloss, and say whether PPF is on the SUV or planned, because film goes on before the coating. After inspecting and measuring the paint, the shop comes back with a package and a price.
Allow one to three days in the shop and 24 dry hours afterwards. Request a price on the ceramic coating quote form; if stone chips on the front end worry you more, start with Hyundai Santa Fe PPF.
