How much does it cost to tint a Hyundai Santa Fe?
$260 in LLumar ATC covers the Santa Fe’s glass behind the front doors under the shop’s SUV rear package: both rear doors, the quarter windows beside the third row and the tailgate glass. Ceramic film on those windows, IRX or AIR, is priced per package, and the dual-pane sunroof gets a quote of its own.
| Santa Fe glass | Film | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear doors, quarter windows, tailgate glass | LLumar ATC dyed | $260 |
| Those windows in ceramic | LLumar IRX or AIR | Quoted per package |
| Dual-pane power sunroof | Any | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front doors | Any | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Whole windshield, from the inside | Any | $200, but only a 75 mm top strip is legal |
The price includes LLumar film cut on the computer plotter from the Santa Fe’s own pattern, heat-formed to each pane by hand, and a lifetime warranty on both the film and the workmanship. Adding the roof or a ceramic upgrade in the same visit usually costs less than booking each separately, so ask for the combined figure.
How dark is the Santa Fe’s factory glass?
Already dark behind the front seats. Hyundai’s 2027 Santa Fe specification sheet lists rear privacy glass on the rear doors, quarter windows and back glass of every US trim, with solar control glass in front and acoustic-laminated glass in the front doors.
Film goes on top of that privacy glass, and the two multiply rather than add: a 35% film on glass passing 20% would leave about 7%. Hyundai publishes no transmission figure for its glass, so look at your Santa Fe in daylight before picking a shade. To keep the factory look and add heat control, AIR 80 passes 77% of visible light with 60% IR energy rejection (IRER) on LLumar’s performance data sheet; IRX or ATC take the glass darker. Window tint versus factory privacy glass lays out what each one does.
Do the Santa Fe’s sunroof and rear shades change the job?
They sit alongside film rather than replacing it. Hyundai Canada’s 2026 Santa Fe card adds a dual-pane power sunroof from the Preferred with Trend Package up, and manual rear side sunshades from the Luxury up.
Hyundai’s convenience features chapter shows the roof’s two shades work differently: the front one is moved by hand, the rear one is powered. Side-glass film keeps cutting heat and UV with the shades up or down, and roof film does the same whenever the roof shades are open. Roof glass is quoted per vehicle; sunroof and panoramic roof tint explains how.
Will tint affect the Santa Fe’s keys or digital mirror?
Not with metal-free film, though one note is worth testing. The same chapter warns that tinted windows, metallic ones above all, may disturb the smart key’s signal and reduce how far away it works. Dyed ATC and nano-ceramic IRX and AIR contain no metal, which is what causes that trouble, as tint and phone or GPS signals explains.
The chapter also says tinting can weaken the Bluetooth link the smartphone digital key uses, and that note doesn’t name a film type. If you use your phone as the key, try it at pickup.
On the Ultimate Calligraphy, the full digital rearview mirror takes its picture from a camera in the rear spoiler, according to Hyundai Canada, so in camera mode the image doesn’t pass through the tailgate glass.
What can legally be tinted on a Santa Fe in BC?
The rear doors, quarter windows and tailgate glass, in any shade, since the Santa Fe has outside mirrors on both sides. MVAR s. 7.05(8) rules out film on the front door glass and on the windshield below its top 75 mm.
Hyundai’s own limits on the windshield go further. The driver assistance chapter puts the front view camera high on the windshield, inside the cabin, and says never to tint that glass, and for the 12-inch head-up display on the Ultimate Calligraphy, the convenience chapter warns that windshield tint may make the projected image invisible. The shop fits front-door or windshield film only if you ask for it, once it has explained that the film isn’t road-legal, risks a $109 ticket plus an order to take it off, and fails inspection. Front window tint in BC has the rest.
How do you book Santa Fe tint in Langley?
Tell the shop the model year, trim and preferred film. Hyundai Canada sells the 2026 Santa Fe as a hybrid in Preferred, Preferred with Trend Package, Luxury and Ultimate Calligraphy trims, and the trim settles whether there’s a roof to quote.
Most SUVs take two to four hours and leave the same day. The rear windows should stay shut for three to five days; a faint haze that week is normal. Get a figure through the Santa Fe tint quote form, and the paint side is covered on Hyundai Santa Fe PPF.
