What does a ceramic coating on a Lamborghini Urus include?
One of three graphene-ceramic packages, each priced for the Urus in front of the shop, since coating prices aren’t published. What changes the figure is the package, the finish of the paint, how much correction it needs, and how much of the body is already under film.
| Package | Layers | Paint preparation | Surfaces coated, per the shop |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 | Decontamination wash, clay, at least one polishing stage | Paint |
| Performance | 2 | Two-stage correction | Paint, wheel faces, glass |
| Signature | 4 | Full correction | Paint, PPF, wheels, glass, trim |
The shop describes Signature as the setup it builds for new exotics and cars in full PPF. Paint thickness is measured with a gauge before a polisher touches the car, and a Urus spends one to three days in the bay. How graphene-ceramic differs from older coatings is covered in graphene vs ceramic coating.
Which Urus paints change how it’s coated?
The matte ones, and the two-tone combinations. Lamborghini has sold the Urus in finishes that put two sheens on one body, and each sheen gets its own preparation.
| Lamborghini edition | Body colours | Contrast finish |
|---|---|---|
| Urus Pearl Capsule | Pearl paints Verde Mantis, Arancio Borealis, Giallo Inti | Black Gloss painted lower bumpers, rocker covers and roof |
| Urus Graphite Capsule | Matte Nero Noctis, Grigio Keres, Grigio Nimbus, Bianco Monocerus | Gloss colour details and a gloss black rear diffuser |
Gloss pearl and gloss black can be corrected and then coated, and black shows every swirl, so the correction stage matters more there. The Graphite Capsule’s matte paint is a different job: Lamborghini calls it “satin-effect”, and a satin or matte finish can’t be polished without leaving shiny patches. Those panels are cleaned and coated with a product made for flat finishes, while the gloss details next to them are treated as gloss. The matte paint coating page explains that process.
Is the carbon on a Urus S or Performante coated too?
Yes. Carbon under paint is simply paint to a coating, and bare carbon with a clear finish can be included with the trim, which Signature covers. The Urus S has a “carbon fiber painted hood” and offered a carbon roof as an option.
The Urus Performante goes further, listing a carbon-fibre bonnet, a full carbon-fibre roof and wider carbon-fibre wheel arches, plus a carbon rear spoiler with side fins. Tell the shop which of those parts on your car are painted and which show the weave, because that decides whether they’re polished, and with what.
What gets checked on the paint before a Urus is coated?
The whole body is washed, decontaminated and inspected under shop lights, and the paint depth is measured. A coating seals in whatever sits under it, so marks worth removing come out first.
On a 2019 Urus, look closely at the rear diffuser. Lamborghini’s bulletin L636-A.08.18 covered early cars where the position of the exhaust tips “could affect the rear diffuser paint”, and had dealers adjust the mufflers and tips. If your car shows marks there, point them out at drop-off, so they’re assessed before anything is sealed over them.
Booking a Urus ceramic coating in Langley
Send the year, version and paint name, say whether the paint is matte, and mention any film already on the car. Plan for one to three days in the shop, then 24 hours without water after pickup.
That dry day takes some planning here. Abbotsford, the nearest long-term weather station, averages 1,537.8 mm of precipitation over 179.5 wet days a year, per Environment Canada’s climate normals, so watch the forecast or keep the Urus under cover. A Urus already wearing film can be coated over it, as the coating over PPF page describes. Request a Urus quote on the coating form or call 604 534 6433.
