How is ceramic coating priced on a Nissan GT-R?
Per car, after the shop has seen the paint. The package sets how many graphene-ceramic layers go on and how much correction goes under them, and the paint’s condition sets how long that correction takes.
| Package | Layers | Prep underneath | Surfaces listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 | Decontaminated paint | Paint |
| Performance | 2 | Two-stage correction | Paint, wheel faces, glass |
| Signature | 4 | Full correction | Paint, PPF, wheels, glass, trim |
A GT-R spends one to three days with the shop, most of it on correction and curing rather than applying the coating. Before any polishing, the shop measures paint thickness, so the correction is matched to the paint that’s actually on the car. The ceramic coating page explains the packages in more depth.
Which GT-R paint does your car wear?
One of Nissan’s solid, pearl, TriCoat or QuadCoat finishes, depending on year and grade. Nissan’s 2021 press kit lists five for the Premium and calls Super Silver a “4-stage metallic” QuadCoat.
| Year and grade | Colours Nissan lists |
|---|---|
| 2020 Premium | Solid Red, Jet Black Pearl, Super Silver QuadCoat, Gun Metallic, Pearl White TriCoat, Bayside Blue QuadCoat |
| 2021 Premium | Solid Red, Jet Black Pearl, Super Silver QuadCoat, Pearl White TriCoat, Bayside Blue QuadCoat |
| 2024 special paints | Super Silver, Bayside Blue, Pearl White, Midnight Purple, Millennium Jade, Stealth Gray |
The 2024 T-spec was the only grade offered in Midnight Purple and Millennium Jade, and Stealth Gray was NISMO-only, per the 2024 press kit. Layered finishes like these are why the paint is measured before polishing. Sun on a dark colour such as Jet Black Pearl shows every swirl, so on those cars the correction under the coating matters most.
Which GT-R surfaces aren’t ordinary paint?
Several, and they vary by year. Nissan’s 2020 press kit describes the V-motion grille as having “a matte chrome finish and mesh pattern”, and the titanium exhaust as finished with “burnished blue tips”. The 2024 sheet lists a dark grey grille, mirrors in body colour “with black lower portion”, black hood ducts on the T-spec and a carbon fibre rear diffuser.
NISMO cars add carbon fibre panels, and the 2024 NISMO Appearance Package applied “a unique clear coat” to the carbon hood. Nissan’s 2020 press kit also notes that “dry carbon fiber requires specific maintenance” and points owners to the manual. These parts are handled apart from the painted panels, and Signature is the package that includes trim.
Should a GT-R get PPF before the coating?
If chips worry you, yes, with the coating on top. Paint protection film stops physical damage on the panels it covers; a coating adds gloss and chemical resistance, but it doesn’t stop a stone. Many full-front owners have the whole car coated afterwards so the film and paint behave alike in the rain.
The GT-R PPF page lists the film packages and what the panels are made of, and coating over PPF covers how the two work together. For the trade-off in general, read PPF versus ceramic coating.
How do you book a GT-R ceramic coating in Langley?
Send the year, grade and colour, the package you’re considering, and whether the car has PPF or carbon fibre parts. The shop inspects the paint and quotes the correction and coating together.
Allow one to three days. After pickup, keep the GT-R dry for 24 hours while the coating cures, then wash it gently by hand. Request a quote through the GT-R ceramic coating form, or phone 604 534 6433.
