How much is window tint on a Nissan GT-R?
From $220 for the legal glass: the two rear side windows plus the back glass, in dyed LLumar ATC. IRX nano-ceramic or AIR clear ceramic on those panes is priced per car.
| GT-R glass | Panes | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear side windows and back glass, ATC | 3 | $220 |
| The same three in IRX or AIR | 3 | Quoted per car |
| Door windows | 2 | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, from the inside | 1 | $200 (film is legal on the top 75 mm only) |
The plotter cuts each piece from the GT-R’s own pattern, then it’s heat-shrunk by hand, so no blade is used on the glass or its seals. The film comes with LLumar’s lifetime limited warranty, and the labour with the shop’s own lifetime warranty. A rear package is usually a same-day job, though curved back glass under a wing takes longer than a flat window.
What glass does Nissan fit to the GT-R?
UV-filtering side glass at the front and rear, and a laminated, UV-reducing windshield. That’s how Nissan’s 2024 GT-R specifications describe it, and the same sheet lists seating for four.
So the rear side windows sit beside the two rear passengers, and film there shades them as well as hiding the cabin. Nissan publishes no light-transmission figure for the glass, and film darkens whatever the glass already lets through, so look at a sample on the car before settling on a shade. The R35 ran for more than 17 years from its 2007 debut, and Nissan announced in June 2024 that North American production would end that October, so the GT-Rs coming in for tint already have years of sun behind them.
How does the GT-R’s rear wing affect back glass tint?
It makes the job slower, not harder to get right. The wing crosses the bottom of the back window, which means the film is shaped on the outside of the glass from above it, as the shop’s GT-R rear glass project photo shows, then fits it to the inside face.
One thing works in the GT-R’s favour. Nissan’s specifications list a “spoiler-mounted LED center high-mount stop lamp”, so the third brake light lives in the wing rather than behind the glass. On many cars that lamp sits inside the back window and film has to be cut around it; on a GT-R, the back glass is clear of it.
Which LLumar film suits a GT-R?
For a car Nissan already gives UV-filtering glass, choose on heat and looks. IRX is the shop’s nano-ceramic upgrade and rejects far more solar energy than dyed ATC at a similar darkness.
| Shade on LLumar’s sheet | Visible light | TSER (total solar energy rejected) | IRER (IR energy rejection) |
|---|---|---|---|
| ATC 05 | 5% | 44% | 22% |
| IRX 05 | 6% | 62% | 60% |
| IRX 50 | 54% | 50% | 60% |
LLumar measured these on 6 mm clear glass for its performance data sheet. Every LLumar film blocks more than 99% of UV. The coupe tint page shows the full shade range.
Can a GT-R have its door windows tinted in BC?
Not legally. MVAR s. 7.05(8) restricts film to side glass rearward of the driver, a band along the top 75 mm of the windshield, and rear glass on a car with outside mirrors left and right. A GT-R’s door windows are beside the front seats; its rear side windows and back glass qualify.
That covers clear film as well. A typical ticket costs $109, and police may also require the film’s removal and an inspection of the GT-R. The shop fits the $140 door job only when asked, and only after explaining the risk; tinting front windows in BC has the rest.
How do you book GT-R tint in Langley?
Send the model year and grade, and whether you lean toward ATC, IRX or AIR. You’ll get the $220 ATC figure next to the ceramic price for the same three panes.
A light haze in the first week is the film curing and clears without help. Clean it with soft microfibre and an ammonia-free product, and never scrape it. Use the GT-R tint quote form, or text 604 534 6433.
