How is a Model X coating quoted?
Only after the paint has been seen. It’s checked under the lights and read with a thickness gauge, and the quote follows from what that finds and how many surfaces beyond the paint you want included.

Signature is what the shop builds for new exotics and fully filmed cars, so a Model X under film fits it. Any of them keeps the SUV for one to three days.
Which paint and wheels does Tesla list for the Model X?
Tesla’s paint-code page for the Model X groups every colour into three finishes:
- Tricoat metallic: Ultra Red, Garnet Red, Signature Red, Red Multicoat and Pearl White Multi-Coat.
- Metallic: Obsidian Black, Diamond Black, Silver, Lunar Silver, Stealth Gray, Frost Blue Metallic, the blues sold as Deep Blue Metallic and Ocean Blue, the grays sold as Midnight Silver Metallic and Steel Gray, and Titanium Silver on 2016 and 2017 cars.
- Solid: Base White and Solid Black.
The coating sits on the clear coat and leaves the colour as it is. The same page names the wheel finishes, which matter because wheel faces are in Performance and whole wheels in Signature:

What should you know about the Model X roof trim?
That it’s bonded on, and that early cars had a recall for it. Transport Canada recall 2020-553 covered 431 Model X vehicles from 2016 whose cosmetic roof trims might not be properly attached: the piece just behind the top of the windshield and the spine trim between the rear doors. Recall 2024-483 replaced it in August 2024, because the first inspection or repair may not have been effective.
On 2021 and later cars, Tesla’s manual shows the front roof applique held by urethane over primer plus five clips, and the rear roof applique bonded to the liftgate with urethane and three clips. Signature coats trim like this; the coating sits on the surface, not in the bond. If any roof trim has been replaced or rebonded, mention it so its edges are known before prep starts.
Can the Model X windshield be coated?
Settle that at the quote, because Tesla says the glass already carries a treatment. Its camera-cleaning procedure for the 2021+ Model X cautions that unapproved IPA wipes could harm the windshield’s “hydrophobic coating”.
Performance and Signature both include glass. Say whether you want the windshield in or out of the job, and read glass coating for what the shop’s glass work covers.
How do you book a Model X coating in Langley?
