Tesla Model X Window Tint in Langley, BC

At a glance

Window tint for a Tesla Model X at Brookswood Tint starts from the $260 SUV rear package in LLumar ATC, confirmed against the car's own glass: on the 2021 and later car, each falcon wing door holds three panes, plus a rear quarter window per side and the glass in the liftgate. IRX or AIR ceramic costs extra, quoted per package. In BC the front doors stay bare, and on the Model X's very tall windshield, film is allowed only within 75 mm of the top.

What will tinting a Model X cost?

The glass behind the driver starts from the SUV rear package, which begins at $260 in LLumar ATC. That package was drawn up around seven windows and a Model X has more, so the figure is confirmed once the shop knows your year. Ceramic film, IRX or AIR, on those panes is priced per package.

Glass on a Model X What’s included From
SUV rear package, LLumar ATC Falcon wing door glass, rear quarter windows, liftgate glass $260, confirmed for the car
Ceramic upgrade, IRX or AIR Every pane in the row above Per-package quote
Driver and passenger doors The two front windows $140, only on request; fails BC’s front-glass rule
Entire windshield Applied inside From $200 on request; illegal below the top 75 mm

A Model X isn’t on the shop’s full-size SUV list, so its front doors take the $140 rate rather than $160. You get LLumar film cut to the Model X pattern on the plotter, with lifetime cover on both the film and the installation. Every class package appears on the tint price list.

How many windows sit behind the driver on a Model X?

Nine on the 2021 and later car: three in each falcon wing door, one quarter window per side, and the liftgate glass. Tesla’s service manual fixes each one differently.

Pane How Tesla’s manual holds it
Rear door glass Rides on a motor and regulator and opens like a normal window
Fixed rear door glass Five bolts, sealed by the rear window seal
Upper falcon wing glass Its own assembly in the upper door section, ten nuts
Rear quarter window Bonded with urethane; 2025+ cars have their own procedure
Liftgate glass, the “backlight” Bonded with urethane, with a defroster grid; antenna and brake lamp connections are unplugged before it comes out

The liftgate glass also sits under the spoiler: Tesla removes the spoiler applique and the passive spoiler before that glass comes out. Film is applied on the cabin side, so those parts stay untouched. The shop’s films carry no metal, as tint and cell or GPS signal explains.

Rear glass that already looks dark may only need a light film. Shades stack, so 20% film on 20% glass passes roughly 4% of the light, and Tesla’s manual gives no darkness figure for these panes. Let the shop look before you pick.

Why is the Model X windshield a special case?

Because it’s unusually tall, and BC’s allowance doesn’t grow with it. Tesla’s repair guide for the Model X draws the AS1 line 689 mm below the edge of the upper painted border, with a second repair zone running on below it to the bottom border. The Model S guide puts its AS1 line just 155 mm down.

None of that changes the rule. MVAR s. 7.05(8) limits windshield film to a band reaching 75 mm down from the top edge, and the 2025 Vehicle Inspection Manual fails anything lower under item 12e. However far above your eyeline the glass reaches, film below that band is outside the law. Tesla’s guide also rules out repairs inside the camera’s view and a 25 mm margin around it, and film stays out of that area too. Whether windshield tint is legal in BC has the detail.

What can be tinted on a Model X in BC?

All nine panes behind the driver, at any darkness, since the Model X carries outside mirrors on both sides. Up front, the door glass and the fixed pane bolted into each front door are forward of the driver’s seat back, the zone where inspection item 13d fails any aftermarket tint.

Film on that front glass is fitted only on request, and the shop sets out the consequences first. A tint ticket usually comes to $109, per the Mission RCMP, and an officer can also order the film taken off and the SUV sent for inspection. The rest of the rule is covered under front window tint in BC, fines included.

How do you book Model X tint in Langley?

Give the build year, since 2025+ cars have their own quarter glass, and say which film you have in mind. SUVs generally take two to four hours to tint in full; with more panes than most, ask how long yours will need.

Leave every window closed for three to five days after pickup; any faint cloudiness that first week is the film drying out. Send the details on the Model X tint quote form; the shop’s number for calls and texts is 604 534 6433.

For a Model X, the $260 SUV package is the starting point. A Model X has more panes than the seven drawn here, so its count is confirmed for the car.

Questions about tesla Model X window tint

01Is a Model X charged the full-size SUV rate for its front doors?

No. The $160 front-door rate is for full-size SUVs such as the Tahoe, Escalade or X7, and for pickups; a Model X takes the $140 rate. The shop fits front-door film only when asked, since it's illegal on BC roads.

02Can the glass in the top of the falcon wing doors be tinted?

Yes. Tesla's manual shows a separate glass assembly in the upper section of each falcon wing door, held by ten nuts, and it sits behind the driver like the rest of the rear door glass. Include it when you ask for the rear price.

03Will tint on the liftgate glass harm the Model X defroster?

The heater grid sits in the liftgate glass, and Tesla's manual lists a damaged heater grid among the faults technicians check that glass for. That's why the shop strips old rear-glass film with steam instead of blades, keeping the grid intact for a re-tint.

04Do a 2025 and a 2022 Model X use the same film pattern?

Not always. Tesla released a separate rear quarter glass procedure for the 2025+ Model X in June 2025, so give the shop the exact build year.
