Which bright pieces does a Q7 carry?
That depends on the version. On the revised Q7 Audi presented in January 2024, the grille’s vertical inlays are teardrop-shaped on the base exterior and L-shaped on the S line exterior and the SQ7, and each version finishes the rest of its trim differently.
| Revised Q7 (2024 on) | Trim Audi describes | What vinyl can cover |
|---|---|---|
| Base | Teardrop grille inlays; contrasting colour on parts of the bumper, door trim and diffuser | Grille inlays, contrast trim, window trim, roof rails |
| S line exterior | L-shaped grille inlays, strongly accentuated side intakes | Grille inlays and surround, intake trim, window trim |
| SQ7 | Aluminium-look mirror housings, grille inlays, intake edging and side-skirt inlay | All of the above plus mirror housings and skirt inlays |
The revised Q7 release also lists “the gloss package with aluminum roof rails” as standard with the V6 engines. That is European equipment wording, so check your own Q7 against the photos you send rather than the brochure.
What do Audi’s Black optics packages change on a Q7?
They do at the factory what vinyl does later. Audi says the optional Black and Black Plus optics packages “set striking accents in the exterior around the Audi Singleframe, the trim on the side windows, and the front and rear bumpers,” and both can be ordered on the SQ7.
If your Q7 was built without them, vinyl gets the same pieces to a similar look. The difference is permanence: a factory package stays with the car for life, while cast vinyl can be peeled off with heat before a sale or a lease return, with the original trim intact underneath. Whether a chrome delete is reversible covers that in more detail.
Can the roof rails and mirror housings go black on a Q7?
Yes. Both belong to the shop’s full blackout level, which adds mirror caps, door handles, roof rails and any brightwork left after the window trim and the front and rear pieces. On a Q7 that means the aluminium roof rails, and on an SQ7 the aluminium-look mirror housings Audi fits.
The shop’s rule of thumb: satin black sits closest to the black plastic already on most modern cars, and gloss black matches gloss paint and a panoramic roof. Samples are held against your paint so you can see both. If only the grille is bothering you, the grille blackout page covers the Singleframe on its own.
Should the new Q7’s illuminated grille be wrapped?
Leave the lit parts alone. On the third-generation Q7 revealed in June 2026, Audi offers an “optionally illuminated Singleframe” alongside digital daytime running lights, according to its third-generation Q7 release.
A chrome delete covers trim, not light sources, so any illuminated element stays uncovered and the vinyl is planned around it. Sensors get the same treatment: the Q7 uses radar and ultrasonic sensors as well as cameras, so a piece that sits in front of one is discussed before it’s quoted.
How do you book a Q7 chrome delete in Langley?
Photos do most of the work: close shots of the grille, window trim, roof rails, mirrors and bumper inserts, plus the year, the version and whether a Black optics package was fitted. The shop quotes per vehicle and lists what it will and won’t cover.
Your vinyl is covered by the 5-year warranty the shop publishes. Where a badge, handle or mirror cap can be removed, it’s taken off so the vinyl can wrap right around it. Request a price through the Q7 chrome delete quote form or call 604 534 6433. Glass tint can be booked in the same visit; Audi Q7 window tint has those prices.
