How much is window tint for an Audi Q7?
$260 in LLumar ATC covers the Q7’s rear glass under the full-size SUV package: both rear door windows, the fixed glass behind them beside the third row, and the tailgate window. Ceramic film and the roof are extra.
| Audi Q7 | Glass | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear package | Rear doors, third-row quarter glass, tailgate window | $260 |
| Ceramic upgrade | Those windows in IRX or AIR film | Priced per package |
| Panoramic sunroof | The roof glass | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front doors | Both front side windows | $140 on request, illegal on BC roads |
| Windshield, full | Applied to the inside face | $200 on request; BC permits only the top 75 mm |
The plotter cuts every piece to the Q7’s own pattern, so the glass and trim never see a knife, and the film is heat-formed and laid by hand. A lifetime warranty from LLumar covers the film, and the shop’s lifetime warranty covers its labour. If your Q7’s rear glass is factory-tinted, SUV window tint explains how film behaves on top of it.
Which windows does the rear package cover on a Q7?
Everything from the rear doors back. The Q7 has offered a third row for years: Transport Canada recall 2016-426 dealt with the third-row seat anchorage on 3,018 Q7s from the 2017 model year. Beside that row on each side sits fixed quarter glass, and the tailgate window closes the package.
The third-generation Q7 that Audi revealed in June 2026 keeps the layout, with five seats as standard and six or seven as options, and a D-pillar Audi calls “more upright overall, resulting in a nearly horizontal roofline.” Audi’s launch release lists German deliveries from September 2026. Give the model year when you book, because film is cut to the year as well as the model.
What does BC law allow on a Q7’s windshield and front doors?
Film only in the top 75 mm of the windshield, and none on the front door windows. Under MVAR s. 7.05(8), glass behind the driver can take film, and so can the back window of any vehicle with exterior mirrors left and right, so the Q7’s tailgate glass qualifies.
The windshield carries more than glass on a Q7. NHTSA recall 23V212000 describes “the heating element used for the front camera on the windshield” of 2020 Q7s, and dealers updated the software and replaced that heater. Any legal sun strip has to be planned around the camera, and tinting a windshield with an ADAS camera explains why.
Front door film is available for $140 if you ask for it. Before anything is cut, the shop explains that it’s illegal on BC roads, that the usual ticket is $109, and that an officer can also order the film removed and the Q7 put through an inspection. The details are on front window tint in BC.
Does the new Q7’s glass roof need film?
Possibly not, so check before paying for it. On the third-generation Q7, Audi describes the panoramic sunroof’s standard “coated laminated glass” as reflecting infrared light and blocking “more than 99.5 percent of UV radiation,” which is why the car does without a conventional blind.
The optional switchable version goes from transparent to opaque in nine segments and turns opaque on its own when the Q7 is parked. Because it’s an electrically switched pane, ask the shop about it before planning film on it. On a second-generation Q7, the roof is quoted like any other panoramic glass; its pricing is on the panoramic roof tint page.
Booking Q7 tint: what should you send?
The year, the seat count, whether the Q7 has a panoramic roof, and the film you’re considering. The shop replies with the rear package, the ceramic difference and a roof figure if you asked for one.
After pickup, leave the rear windows up for three to five days; any haze clears within the first week as the film dries. Use a soft microfibre and ammonia-free cleaner on the film from then on. Get a figure through the Q7 tint quote form or by calling 604 534 6433. The paint can be planned in the same visit: Audi Q7 PPF lists the front-end packages.
