How is a BMW X7 chrome delete priced?
By the piece, once the shop sees which trim on your X7 is still bright. A 2023 or later X7 with the M Sport Package has less to cover than an earlier one, because BMW already blacks out the window surrounds and roof rails.
The vinyl is 3M or Avery Dennison cast film, gloss or satin black, and the shop publishes a 5-year warranty on it. Which X7 trim is still bright after the 2023 update?
The grille and the lower front inlays, mainly. BMW Canada’s 2023 X7 release describes new kidney grille bars “with their bi-colour look and chrome elements”, and “large inlays in satin aluminum which border the lower air intake on either side”.

On an M Sport X7, a chrome delete mostly comes down to the grille bars, the satin intake inlays and any badges you want darkened. What did BMW black out on the X7 Dark Shadow Edition?
A full list of the pieces a chrome delete targets. The Dark Shadow Edition release says its High Gloss Shadow Line covered the side window surrounds, “the covers of the B and C columns and the exterior mirror bases”, and added a black chrome finish on “the frame and the bars of the BMW kidney grille, the Air Breathers and the tailpipe covers”, with high-gloss Shadow Line roof rails.
That’s a useful checklist for a standard 2019 to 2022 X7. The 2020 M50i took a lighter version: BMW’s M50i release says “BMW Individual high-gloss Shadowline trim and Cerium Grey highlight selected individual exterior components”. Which X7 parts stay as BMW made them?
The tail light bar on later models, and every lamp. The 2019 X7 had a chrome bar bridging the two rear lights, which BMW’s launch release called a cue from the 7 Series. On the 2023 update, that slim chrome bar “is enclosed within an exquisite glass cover”, so it isn’t a loose trim strip vinyl can wrap.
Headlights and taillights stay clear too. BC’s 2025 Vehicle Inspection Manual fails a lamp whose lens “is covered in any manner” (section 6, item 1.0(a)), so the vinyl stops at the lamp edges. The 2023 X7’s split headlights already look dark when off, with the main beams set in dark housings low in the fascia.
