How much does X7 window tint cost?
On the shop’s full-size SUV package, the X7’s rear glass costs from $260 in LLumar ATC. Ceramic film on the same windows, the roof and the windshield are priced separately.

A plotter cuts each window’s film to the X7’s pattern rather than trimming it on the car; it’s then heat-shrunk and fitted by hand. Film and workmanship carry a lifetime warranty. All the packages and body styles are on the window tint prices page.
What makes the X7’s side glass different?
There’s a lot of it, and the rear doors are bigger than the fronts. BMW Canada’s 2019 X7 launch release says “The rear doors are longer than the front doors”, and describes “large windows and long, flowing roofline” on a body 5,151 mm long with a 3,105 mm wheelbase.
Three rows of full-size seats sit behind that glass, six or seven people depending on whether the middle row has captain’s chairs. Long door glass is cut as one piece from the plotter and shrunk to the curve by hand, the same as any side window, just larger. Because so many passengers ride behind the driver, every LLumar film’s UV rejection, over 99% on the data sheet, applies to most of the cabin.
How is the X7’s three-panel glass roof handled?
As its own quote. BMW’s launch release lists “a standard three-panel electronically controlled panoramic glass sunroof”, with electrically sliding shades for the front, centre and rear sections, and notes that third-row passengers get “an additional glass roof element” and their own shade controls.
An optional Panorama Sky Lounge LED roof spreads light across the glass to show “more than 15,000 graphic patterns”, in BMW’s words. If your X7 has it, mention that when you ask, so the shop can talk through roof film before quoting. Is the X7’s rear glass already darkened?
On some, and BMW doesn’t publish how dark. The X7 Dark Shadow Edition release lists “sun protection glazing” among the features that set off its matte paint, so check whether your X7 has it before choosing a shade.
Without a factory figure, look at the glass itself. Film multiplies with whatever the glass already blocks: stack 20% film on 20% glass and you’re near 4%. BMW gives the X7 a two-section split tailgate, both parts opening electrically, and the tailgate window is cut from the X7 pattern like every other piece.
What does BC law allow on an X7?
Any shade on the rear doors, third-row glass and tailgate window, since the X7 has outside mirrors on both sides. Under MVAR s. 7.05(8), the front door glass can’t take film at all, and the windshield only along its top 75 mm.
The windshield also carries BMW’s head-up display, which the 2023 X7 release ties to the DigitalCockpit Professional option. The $160 front-door job is available only if you ask for it. A full SUV usually takes two to four hours, with most going home the same day. Don’t open the side windows for three to five days, so the film can cure. On LLumar’s performance data sheet, AIR 80 lets 77% of visible light through, which suits owners who want the glass to look untouched.
