Which blacked-out Silverado packages does Chevrolet sell?
Several, and they show which pieces Chevrolet itself thinks of as the chrome to lose. Chevrolet Canada’s 2026 Silverado page lists these:
| 2026 edition or package | Trims | What Chevrolet darkens |
|---|---|---|
| Midnight Edition | Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, High Country | Badging, recovery hooks, bed decal, bumpers, dual rectangular exhaust tips and grille, all in black |
| TurboMax Blackout Package | Custom, Custom Trail Boss | Silverado nameplates, Custom and TurboMax badges, bowtie and tailgate lettering in black; a Black Chrome exhaust tip |
| Rally Edition | Custom, RST | Black badging, bowtie emblems, tailgate lettering and exhaust tips, with hood and tailgate stripes |
| Redline Edition | RST | High Gloss Black door handles, LED headlamps with black bezels |
Two trims come darker as standard. The RST has a body-colour centre grille bar, bumpers and door handles, and the ZR2 a black chrome grille with a Chevrolet flowtie badge. These are chosen when the truck is ordered, so a Silverado built without one keeps its bright trim unless something covers it.
What does a vinyl chrome delete cover on a Silverado?
Any bright piece you choose, wrapped one at a time in black cast vinyl with the paint left alone. On a Silverado that usually means some mix of these:
- Emblems and lettering: the front and rear bowties, Silverado nameplates, trim badges and tailgate lettering. See badge chrome delete for how small pieces are handled.
- Grille: the bars and surround. The 2027 High Country, for example, gets an exclusive grille with Tritan Satin accents, according to the 2027 Silverado page.
- Bumpers: chrome or metallic ones you’d rather see black. Chevrolet lists Anderson Metallic bumpers on the 2027 LT/Z71, for example. A full bumper is a much bigger wrap than a badge, so it’s priced from the truck.
- Handles, mirror caps and remaining bright work: the shop’s full blackout level.
Removable parts like the badges, handles and mirror caps are taken off to be wrapped right around, then refitted with the correct clips and fasteners.
Vinyl or a factory blackout package?
A factory package is part of the truck from the day it’s built, while vinyl can go on any Silverado later and come off again. That makes vinyl the practical choice for a truck you already own.
| Factory edition | Vinyl chrome delete | |
|---|---|---|
| When it’s chosen | At order | Any time after |
| Which trims | Only those Chevrolet offers it on | Any Silverado |
| Undoing it | It’s the truck’s own trim | Heat lifts the vinyl, chrome underneath |
| At resale | Stays black | Can go back to chrome first |
3M’s 2080 product bulletin lists heat or chemical removal from most surfaces for as long as the film’s warranty runs. Painting or dipping trim is harder to reverse, and the vinyl, paint and Plasti Dip comparison sets the three side by side.
Gloss or satin black for a Silverado?
Match what’s already black on the truck. Chevrolet mixes finishes itself: the Redline Edition uses High Gloss Black door handles, the Midnight Edition rolls on high-gloss black-painted wheels, and the TurboMax Blackout Package fits a Black Chrome exhaust tip.
Gloss sits well beside gloss wheels and a shiny grille. Satin’s softer sheen keeps handprints from showing. Samples of each go up against your Silverado’s paint before cutting starts.
How do you get a Silverado 1500 chrome delete quoted?
Chrome delete has no published price, so the quote comes from your trim and the pieces you pick. Send front, side and rear photos with the year, trim and finish through the chrome delete quote form; you can also text the photos to 604 534 6433.
Five years is the manufacturer warranty on the vinyl from either maker, per the shop’s published terms. If smoked taillight film is on your list as well, ask about BC inspections first, because lamp film can fail one. What drives the price is explained on the chrome delete cost page.
