Does a 2026 Maverick have much chrome to delete?
Very little. Ford’s 2026 lineup is finished mostly in black, grey or body colour, so a Maverick delete is about badges and a handful of accents rather than bright bumpers. Ford Canada’s model page and Ford’s US trim list show:
| 2026 trim | Exterior finishes Ford lists |
|---|---|
| XL | Black mesh grille with black surround; 17-inch steel wheels with Sparkle Silver covers |
| XLT | Carbonized Grey-painted aluminum wheels; Black Appearance Package available |
| Lobo | Body colour-painted rear bumpers, rocker moulding and door handles; black-painted roof; black-painted wheels |
| Lariat | Black-painted sideview mirrors; machined painted aluminum wheels |
| Tremor | Unique grille with orange accents; dark-tarnish wheels with orange-painted pockets |
None of those lines describes chrome. What’s left to change is the badging, whatever its finish on your truck, and the coloured accents some trims add.
What can be blacked out on a Maverick?
The pieces that still stand out against the black and body-colour trim. Common choices on a Maverick fall into a few groups:
- Badges and lettering. The Ford ovals and model and trim emblems. Emblems are lifted off and wrapped whole where their fixings allow; badge chrome delete shows how.
- Grille accents. The Tremor’s orange grille details, covered for an all-black front end.
- Handles and mirrors. On a Lobo the door handles are body colour; black vinyl makes them a contrast detail. Mirror caps that aren’t already black can be covered too.
The shop’s chrome delete list covers grilles, trim, badges, window surrounds, handles, mirror caps and roof rails. Wheels and wheel covers aren’t on it, so the XL’s Sparkle Silver covers or the Tremor’s orange wheel pockets are a separate question.
Should you use vinyl or Ford’s Black Appearance Package?
It depends on whether you’ve bought the truck yet. Ford lists a Black Appearance Package as available on the XLT, and if you’re still ordering, it’s worth asking the dealer exactly what it changes on your year. On a truck you already own, vinyl does the job without new parts.
The vinyl, gloss or satin black, comes from 3M or Avery Dennison and carries the shop’s published 5-year warranty. It can come off later, for a lease return or a sale, which a factory package can’t. More on removal is in whether a chrome delete is reversible.
What on a Maverick stays uncovered?
The lamps and the camera. Ford Canada lists LED projector headlamps with signature accent lighting and fog lamps on the Lobo, and LED signature lighting with LED taillamps on the Lariat. BC’s 2025 Vehicle Inspection Manual turns down any lamp with a lens that dims its output or is “covered in any manner” (section 6, item 1.0(a)). Vinyl therefore stays on the trim around those lamps, never the lenses.
On a Lariat, Ford’s 360-degree camera system includes a front camera, so tell the shop if your truck has it before the grille and badges are planned, and keep the camera’s lens and view free of vinyl.
How do you book a Maverick chrome delete in Langley?
Send the year, trim and colour, list the parts you want black and pick gloss or satin. A photo of the front and back helps. A price and a booking date come back from the shop.
Once it’s done, hand or touchless washing is kindest to the vinyl; hold any pressure wand well back from its edges. Ask through the chrome delete quote form. For the glass and paint, see Maverick window tint and Maverick PPF.
