What is there to black out on a Gladiator?
The grille’s accent pieces, the headlamp rings on the Mojave and Rubicon, and the badges. Jeep’s 2024 Canadian press kit describes the updated seven-slot grille as black textured slots with “neutral grey metallic bezels and body-colour surround”, and gloss black slots and bezels on the Willys. The 2026 Canadian feature list then sets the grille finish per trim:
| 2026 Gladiator | Grille finish Jeep lists | Mirrors |
|---|---|---|
| Sport S | Body colour | Mold-in-colour, power-heated |
| Willys | Black | Mold-in-colour, power-heated |
| Mojave | Body colour with Mojave accent throats and headlamp rings | Mold-in-colour, power-heated |
| Rubicon | Body colour with Rubicon accent throats and headlamp rings | Mold-in-colour, power-heated |
“Throats” are the openings of the grille slots. Because every 2026 trim’s mirror housings are moulded in colour rather than plated, a Gladiator blackout rarely involves mirror caps at all. The quote is built from front and rear photos, since the pieces that are bright on your truck depend on its year and trim.
Which Gladiator trims already leave the factory dark?
Several. On Jeep Canada’s models page, a gloss black grille is one of the Willys’s upgrades over the Sport S, and the Nighthawk adds gloss black 20-inch wheels with a body-colour hardtop and flares. The Sport S can take a Dark Sky Appearance Package whose premium front bumper carries Gloss Black accents.
The furthest Jeep goes is the 2026 Shadow Ops limited edition. The limited editions page calls its exterior “blackout-themed” and says it’s the first mid-size pickup with a factory-installed winch. If you own a Sport S, Mojave or Rubicon and like those looks, vinyl gets you most of the way: the bezels, throats and headlamp rings go black, and the body-colour surround can follow if you want a fully dark face. How grille jobs are priced on their own is on the grille blackout page.
Can the Trail Rated and Desert Rated badges go black?
Yes, and they’re often the first pieces people want changed. Jeep’s press kit says every Gladiator model carries a Trail Rated badge or, on the Mojave, a Desert Rated one, so every truck has at least one to consider.
Editions bring their own. The limited editions page gives the 85th Anniversary Edition Blue Agave decals and badges, Bronze tow hooks and Steel Oxide wheels, while the Willys ’41 wears Olive Drab ’41 paint. Each badge is handled separately; where it unclips without damage it’s taken off and wrapped whole, which hides the vinyl’s edge. Edition decals are your call too, so say which ones stay and which disappear under black. Badge blackouts explains the process step by step.
Gloss or satin on a truck with black flares and rock rails?
Satin usually sits closer to a Gladiator’s existing black parts; gloss matches a gloss black hardtop or the Willys grille. Jeep fits high-clearance black flares to the Mojave and Rubicon and black painted-steel rock rails to most trims, and those textured surfaces read closer to satin than to gloss.
A satin finish also shows fingerprints less on parts you touch. Either way, samples of both are held against your truck before anything is cut. Because the delete is vinyl, it isn’t permanent: a chrome delete is reversible, and the factory finish is still underneath when it comes off.
How do you get a Gladiator blackout quoted?
Chrome delete has no list price, so the quote comes from your truck. The quote needs your year and trim (and edition, if any), photos from the front, both sides and the tailgate, and a list of badges marked keep or black. It all goes through the chrome delete quote form, or the pictures can be texted to 604 534 6433.
Both vinyl brands come with five years of manufacturer warranty, per the shop’s published terms. After a week the truck can go through a touchless wash; brushes are out, and a pressure wand should never be aimed at a vinyl edge. If it sees gravel or trails, hose the mud off before any scrubbing. For the rest of the truck, see Gladiator window tint and Gladiator PPF.
