Where is the chrome on a Grand Cherokee, trim by trim?
On the grille, across the lower front fascia and, on the upper trims, in the door handles. Jeep’s 2025 Canadian feature list breaks it down by trim:

Some pieces are already dark. The same list gives every 2025 trim a Gloss Black liftgate spoiler, Gloss Black mirror caps above the Laredo, and black roof rails on all four. So a delete on this SUV is mostly a front-end job, plus the handles on an Overland or Summit.
What changed on the 2026 and 2027 Grand Cherokee?
The trim finishes, so the 2025 table is a guide rather than the last word. Jeep’s 2026 Canadian press kit describes a freshened face with an updated seven-slot grille, a new headlight design, a modified rear and lower fascia, and “all-new exterior trim finishes”.

The Upland row comes from Jeep’s 2027 announcement. On a refreshed Grand Cherokee, photos of the front and both sides tell the shop more than the badge on the liftgate.
Do the Altitude and Black Appearance packages already black it out?
In large part, going by Jeep’s descriptions, and they show where a vinyl delete is heading. The 2025 Canadian list offers three factory routes:
- Altitude Package (Laredo). Gloss Black exterior accents and badging, 20-inch Gloss Black wheels and its own seven-slot grille.
- Black Appearance Package (Limited). Black exterior accents with 20-inch wheels.
- High Altitude Package (Summit). Black exterior accents with 21-inch wheels.
Jeep Canada’s 2026 lineup still lists an Altitude model with Gloss Black exterior accents. Vinyl brings a Grand Cherokee ordered without one of these packages close to the same look on the trim it can cover. Wheels aren’t part of a vinyl chrome delete, so a factory Altitude still has the edge there.
Which Grand Cherokee pieces come off, and which are wrapped in place?
Badges and door handles are removed where that can be done cleanly, letting the vinyl wrap right around each piece, and they’re refitted with the correct clips. The grille rings and the long fascia insert are judged on the SUV, depending on how they’re fixed.
- Grille rings. The rings “float” on the grille insert, in Jeep’s word, so each one is its own small wrap. This is the piece that changes the face most.
- Lower fascia insert. A long, narrow strip low on the front, where road grit hits. Vinyl here takes the most grit, so expect it to show wear before the grille does.
- Door handle inserts. Only on the Overland and Summit, four handles’ worth.
- Badges and decals. The 2026 85th Anniversary Edition adds an 85th logo and a 4x4 liftgate decal, on Jeep Canada’s list; tell the shop whether those stay. Blacking out badges covers how each one is handled.
Cast vinyl on trim should give five-plus years with reasonable care, in the shop’s experience, and the shop lists a 5-year manufacturer warranty on the film.
