Which bright trim does a G-Class have from the factory?
It depends on the model and the packages. On the G 550, Mercedes lists “a silver chrome radiator grille, MULTIBEAM LED headlights, spare wheel ring and running boards in stainless steel” in its 2025 G 550 announcement, so a standard G 550 has the most to cover.

Mercedes’s 2025 guides for the G 550 and AMG G 63 also list a MANUFAKTUR Dark Chrome Package without spelling out its contents. If your G was ordered with it, send photos and the quote covers only the pieces that are still shiny.
What does Mercedes’s Night Package already black out?
The Night Package is the factory route to the same look. Mercedes describes it as “sporty, expressive design elements in black”, and the G 550 guide offers it as Night Package, Night Package Plus and Night Package Magno, alongside “Exterior Elements in Black” in the G PROFESSIONAL package.
For 2026 the Night Package gained the MANUFAKTUR Logo Package in Black, according to Mercedes’s 2026 model line updates, and the AMG Night Package was enhanced the same way. Those packages are chosen when the G is ordered. A vinyl delete reaches a similar result on a G that left the factory with its brightwork, and because cast vinyl is removed with heat, the chrome is still underneath when you sell. Which parts of a G-Class should stay uncovered?
Anything with a sensor or camera behind it. Mercedes’s Surround View system on the 2025 G draws on four cameras, one at each end and one on each side, and Mercedes lists Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and, on the AMG G 63, PARKTRONIC parking sensors.
Mercedes’s guides don’t say exactly where each sensor sits, so the shop checks your G before quoting and leaves bare any emblem or trim piece that covers one. Gloss or satin black on a G-Class?
Both are available in 3M and Avery Dennison film. Gloss black sits closest to a factory black part. Satin reads as a flatter, more muted black.
In the shop’s view, satin is the natural partner for a Magno G, since Mercedes itself offers a Night Package Magno for matte-painted vehicles, and gloss suits a gloss body. Ask to see both finishes against your paint before you choose.
How do you book a G-Class chrome delete in Langley?
