What do PPF packages cost on an M8?
From $850 for the Partial Front up to $4,000 for the whole car, all in LLumar Platinum. Those are starting figures; the body you have (Coupe, Convertible or the longer Gran Coupe), the number of complex panels and the paint’s condition set the final price.
| LLumar Platinum package | Panels on an M8 | Starting at |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | Full front bumper, front part of the hood and fenders, headlights, mirrors | $850 |
| Full Front | Entire hood and front fenders, full bumper, headlights, mirrors | $1,550 |
| Track Package | Full Front, then the A-pillars, a section of roof and the rockers | $1,900 |
| Full Vehicle | Every painted panel of the M8, headlights included | $4,000 |
Film is cut from software templates for the model, and edges are wrapped where a panel allows it; if a bumper needs a relief cut, you’re shown where first. LLumar backs Platinum with a 10-year limited warranty, and the shop names yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling among the faults covered.
Where does an M8 pick up stone chips?
Low and wide at the front. BMW Canada’s M8 Coupe and Cabriolet release describes large openings in the front bumper for engine, transmission and brake cooling, with Laserlight headlights on either side of the grille. Every one of those openings has a painted edge, and the bumper is the first panel stones reach.
Behind the front wheels, the Gran Coupe release describes Air Breathers that let air flow through the front fenders, and a rear track 38 mm wider than the Coupe’s under heavily sculpted rear fenders. Film over the front fenders has to follow those openings closely. The Full Front covers the bumper, hood and front fenders together; the rear fenders only come in with the Full Vehicle package.
Are the M8’s Black Chrome and carbon parts filmed?
Not usually. They’re trim, not paint. BMW finishes the kidney grille and side gills in Black Chrome and the mirror caps, rear spoiler and rear diffuser in high-gloss black, and its optional M Carbon package swaps the grille surrounds, mirror caps, gills, spoiler and diffuser sections for carbon fibre.
The mirrors are in every package, so tell the shop whether the caps are gloss black or carbon. The Coupe and Gran Coupe roofs are carbon fibre as well, which affects the Track Package’s roof section: on an M8, that strip is going over bare carbon rather than paint. Point out any carbon you want covered and it’s priced as part of the plan.
Which Frozen colours has BMW offered on the M8?
Several. The 2020 launch palette included Frozen Bluestone metallic among the BMW Individual colours. BMW Canada’s 2022 M8 update added four more Frozen finishes, which BMW describes as silk-matte: Frozen Pure Grey, Frozen Deep Grey, Frozen Deep Green and Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic.
Gloss film would give those colours a sheen they weren’t built with, so a Frozen M8 gets LLumar Platinum Matte. It holds the flat finish and self-heals light scratches with warmth, under the same 10-year limited warranty. On a gloss M8 the same matte film turns the paint satin. PPF on matte paint covers the prep a factory matte car needs.
How do you book PPF for an M8 in Langley?
Give the year, the body, the paint name (say if it’s Frozen) and whether the car has the M Carbon package. The shop quotes that car and tells you how long it needs.
Plan on about a day for the Partial Front, one to two days for the Full Front or Track Package, and three to five for the full car. Afterwards the shop asks you to wait a week before washing (LLumar’s own FAQ says three days) and to use hand or touchless washes. What the Full Front covers panel by panel is on its own page, and M8 ceramic coating goes on after film if you want both. Book through the M8 PPF quote form or call 604 534 6433.
