What does an M8 wrap cost?
It’s priced per car, because the body, the finish and the amount of disassembly vary so much. The Gran Coupe is 231 mm longer than the Coupe with two extra doors, the Convertible trades a roof panel for a fabric top, and the finish you choose moves the price too.
| M8 wrap job | Panels involved | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Full colour change | Every exterior painted panel, door jambs if you want them | 3 to 5 days |
| Partial | Hood, mirror caps, spoiler, a stripe kit or other single panels | Same day to 2 days |
| Trim only | Grille, gills, badges, window surrounds | Quoted as a chrome delete |
The vinyl is 3M or Avery Dennison cast film, which stretches over curves and holds its shape at the edges, and the shop publishes a 5-year manufacturer warranty on it. The factory paint stays underneath and the film lifts with heat later. For how a whole-car colour change is planned, see colour change wraps.
Wrap or Frozen paint: which matte look?
BMW will sell you matte from the factory, but only in its own colours. BMW Canada’s 2022 M8 update lists four silk-matte Frozen finishes for the M8 (Pure Grey, Deep Grey, Deep Green and Tanzanite Blue metallic), and the 2020 launch list had Frozen Bluestone.
A matte or satin wrap gets a gloss M8 to a flat look in a colour BMW doesn’t offer, and it comes off again. The shop’s own example is the Mercedes GLS on this page in Avery Matte Metallic Gunmetal; the Matte Metallic Gunmetal colour page has the film details. If what you want is matte with chip protection rather than a new colour, matte PPF against a matte wrap weighs the two.
Which M8 panels take the most work to wrap?
The front corners and the rear haunches. BMW Canada’s M8 Coupe release describes large openings in the front bumper for engine, transmission and brake cooling, and every edge of those openings needs film tucked around it. Behind the front wheels sit the M gills, or on the Gran Coupe the Air Breathers that let air through the front fenders.
At the back, the Gran Coupe release describes a Hofmeister kink in a wide C-pillar flowing into heavily sculpted rear fenders. Deep curves like those are why the shop works only in cast film, which conforms to compound shapes and settles around edges without lifting. Where a part can come off for a cleaner edge, it’s removed and refitted.
Should the M8’s carbon roof be wrapped?
Usually not. BMW fits the Coupe with a carbon fibre roof as standard, and the Gran Coupe’s roof is carbon too, so the top of the car is already dark and has a visible weave. A satin black roof on a gloss car is the single panel the shop is asked for most, but an M8 already has a dark roof from the factory.
Wrapping the roof still makes sense in a full colour change if you want the car one colour from top to bottom. The Convertible is different: BMW gives it a multi-layer insulated fabric soft top, which isn’t wrapped, so only its painted panels are. For panel-only ideas that leave the carbon alone, hood wraps are a common starting point.
How do you book an M8 wrap in Langley?
Send the year, body and current paint, the colour and finish you’re after, and whether you want door jambs done. Photos of the car help the quote.
Once it’s done, hand or touchless washes keep the film looking right; leave the brush wash alone and keep pressure-washer jets off the edges. If you only want the bright trim changed, M8 chrome delete is the smaller job. Start with the M8 wrap quote form or call 604 534 6433.
