Mercedes-Benz G-Class PPF in Langley, BC

At a glance

Paint protection film on a Mercedes-Benz G-Class starts at $850 for a Partial Front in LLumar Platinum, $1,550 for a Full Front and $4,000 for every painted panel, and a vehicle the G's size can price above those starting figures. The upright nose, the prominent indicator lamps and, on AMG Line models and the G 580, flared wheel arches are where it pays off. Magno matte paint takes Platinum Matte so the finish stays flat.

What does PPF cost on a Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

Four LLumar Platinum packages apply, from $850 for the nose to $4,000 for the whole body. Those are starting prices: a G is big and slab-sided, so the final figure follows its size, the panel shapes on your model and how much correction the paint needs first.

Package What it covers on a G-Class From
Partial Front Full front bumper, the leading part of the hood and front fenders, headlamps, mirrors $850
Full Front Whole hood, whole front fenders, bumper, headlamps, mirrors $1,550
Track Package Full Front plus the A-pillars, part of the roof and the rocker panels $1,900
Full Vehicle Every painted surface, headlamps included $4,000

The film is self-healing, cut from software templates, and its edges are wrapped wherever the panel allows. A relief cut is sometimes unavoidable on a bumper, and the shop shows you where before the film goes on. LLumar backs Platinum with a 10-year limited warranty, which the shop describes as covering yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling.

Where does a G-Class take stone chips?

Mostly on surfaces that face the road square-on. Mercedes-Benz Canada sums up the G as “upright lines”, and a tall, flat front meets gravel thrown up by traffic head-on rather than letting it glance off. That’s the shop’s view of the shape; the parts list below is Mercedes’s own.

For the 2025 update, Mercedes-Benz USA describes a radiator grille with “four horizontal louvers”, a G 550 bumper whose air inlet grille has “a rounded square pattern”, and an AMG G 63 bumper with “three vertical louvers in front of the air inlets”. It also lists the G’s “prominent indicator lights” among its signature details, and adds new A-pillar trim with a spoiler lip on the roof edge.

At the corners, the AMG Line package adds flared wheel arches, and the electric G 580 gets flared rear arches with air curtains. Mercedes also applies “a thin layer of stone-chip protection” to the G 580’s underside. That protects the battery underbody, not the paint you see, which is the job film does. If you drive gravel roads, the Track Package’s rockers and A-pillars cover the next most exposed areas.

Should Magno paint on a G-Class get matte film?

Yes. Magno is Mercedes’s matte paint; its service information on G-Class paint refers to “matte paint (MAGNO)” on the G-Class model series 463 and 465. Gloss film would put a shine on every panel it covers. LLumar Platinum Matte keeps a flat finish flat and carries the same 10-year limited warranty as the gloss film.

Matte is a big part of the G’s range. The AMG G 63 is offered in 37 colours, 25 of them MANUFAKTUR hues, with MANUFAKTUR Green Hell Magno reserved for it, and both the G 550 and AMG G 63 can have the roof painted in Night Black Magno. For 2026, Mercedes added a Night Package Magno for Magno-painted vehicles. A scuffed or shiny patch on matte paint can’t be polished out, so film matters more there than on gloss. The detail is on whether PPF can go on matte paint.

How does film fit around the G-Class cameras and sensors?

Plan for them before the film is cut. Mercedes’s 2025 G uses four cameras, at the front, the rear and on both sides, for its Surround View system and the Transparent Hood view under the front. The rearview camera now sits above the licence plate holder in the centre of the rear bumper.

The AMG G 63 guide also lists PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist, so the bumpers carry parking sensors too. Before installing, the shop shows where any relief cut will fall; ask it to point out the openings for the front camera and the parking sensors at the same time, so you know what stays uncovered.

How do you book PPF for a G-Class in Langley?

Send the year, the model and the paint name, and say whether it’s a Magno colour. A Partial Front is usually one day, a Full Front or Track Package one to two, and full-vehicle film three to five. The paint is decontaminated first and corrected if it needs it.

Afterwards, wait a week before the first wash, then hand or touchless wash only, with pressure nozzles kept off the film edges. If you also want the glass done, G-Class window tint can be booked in the same stay. The G63 6x6 in the photo came to the shop for tint; for a full-body film job in the library, see the 911 GT3 RS PPF project. Get a figure through the G-Class PPF quote form or call 604 534 6433.

Questions about G-Class PPF

01Should the G-Class indicator lamps get film?

Mercedes names the G's prominent indicator lights among its signature details, and in the shop's view anything that stands proud at the front meets stones first. Ask for them by name, with the headlamps, when you book.

02Is the spare wheel cover on the back worth filming?

On the AMG G 63 it's painted in body colour, and the G 550 offers a body-colour spare wheel ring. Neither sits in a standard front package, so ask for it as an add-on or choose full-vehicle coverage.

03Can I get PPF on a G 580 before its first winter?

Yes. A Full Front usually takes one to two days. Mercedes already puts stone-chip protection under the G 580, but that layer is on the underside, not the painted body.

04Does matte film change how I wash a Magno G?

Hand or touchless washing applies either way, with pressure nozzles kept off film edges and no brush washes. Wait a week after installation before the first wash.
