How is an R1S wrap priced?
Each one is quoted from the vehicle; there is no list price. The quote follows the area covered, the film line and finish, any door jambs, and how healthy the paint is underneath.
| Job | Basis of the quote |
|---|---|
| Full colour change | The film and finish you choose, across the whole body |
| Hood, mirror caps or lower body | The panels involved |
| Liftgate and tailgate in a contrast colour | Treated as a partial job |
| Door jambs | Quoted on top if wanted |
Vinyl follows the surface it sits on, so stone chips and deep scratches show through. The paint is inspected before a quote is final, and wrapping over rock chips covers what can be done about damage first.
Can a wrap give an R1S a finish Rivian doesn’t paint?
Yes. Rivian Canada’s configurator lists Esker Silver, Glacier White, Forest Green, Half Moon Grey, Midnight and Rivian Blue for the Premium, with Red Canyon and Storm Blue added on the Performance and Quad. Nothing on that list is offered in a satin or matte finish.
Vinyl widens the choice to satin, matte, colour-shift, chrome and textured films, in colours from the full 3M and Avery Dennison ranges. The hero photo is a Mercedes GLS the shop wrapped in Avery Dennison Matte Metallic Gunmetal: a big three-row SUV like the R1S, though not a Rivian. Colour change wraps walks through how a full change is planned.
What on an R1S body has to stay uncovered?
Every lens and sensor face. Rivian’s guides for both generations ask owners to keep film, stickers and plates clear of every camera, radar and sensor, and the hardware on the driver’s side moved for the 2025 model year:
- 2022 to 2024: a fender camera, a wing camera and a surround view camera, as the guide draws the driver’s side.
- 2025 on: a wing camera, a surround view camera and a lane change camera, per the 2025 to 2027 owner’s guide.
- Front and rear, both generations: ultrasonic sensors, corner radars and surround view cameras.
A few moving parts shape the vinyl too. Rivian’s exterior door handles sit flush and extend once the vehicle is unlocked, so film edges around them have to allow for that movement. The charge port door on the driver’s side has its own sensor. At the back, the R1S has a liftgate above a separate drop-down tailgate, two panels that each need their own edges. Go through each of these with the shop while the quote is being drawn up.
Should an R1S get a wrap, PPF or both?
It depends on what you’re protecting against. Vinyl changes the colour and shields the factory paint from sun and road grime for as long as it’s on, but it isn’t designed to absorb stone strikes. For chips on the nose, R1S paint protection film is the right product, and LLumar’s matte version gives gloss paint a satin look at the same time. The two can also be combined, with film on the nose and vinyl elsewhere. PPF versus vinyl wrap sets the two side by side.
How do you book an R1S wrap in Langley?
Send the shop the year and trim, the film you have in mind (a colour name or product code is enough), which panels you want done, and daylight photos showing the paint. The reply comes with a price and a booking window, because coverage and film decide how long the R1S stays. Use the R1S wrap quote form, or phone 604 534 6433 if you’d rather talk it over first.
