What does it cost to tint an Audi Q5?

Is a Q5 Sportback tinted differently from the SUV?
Same film, same price class, different last pane. Audi describes the Q5 Sportback launched in late 2024 as having a roofline that slopes from the B-pillar to a flat rear window, above a trunk lid with a sharp breakaway edge.
Both are cut from their own pattern, so tell the shop which body you drive. A year and “Q5” alone don’t settle it, because Audi sells the two shapes side by side.
What is the light projected onto a Q5’s rear window?
On the third-generation Q5, introduced in September 2024, Audi describes a projection light in the spoiler above the rear window that puts a graphic onto the upper part of the glass to enlarge the brake light area. The Q5 SUV launch release calls it a first in Europe, and the Sportback carries it too.
Audi doesn’t say how window film interacts with that graphic, and the shop doesn’t guess at it. If your Q5 has the feature, mention it at booking so the strip at the top of the tailgate glass is talked through before anything is cut. The digital OLED tail lights Audi describes sit outside the glass, so window film never touches them.
Can a Q5’s front windows or windshield be tinted in BC?
No for the front doors, and only a 75 mm band across the top of the windshield. MVAR s. 7.05(8) lets you put film on every side window from the driver’s seat back, and on the rear window too when the vehicle has an outside mirror on the left and the right, as every Q5 does.
The third-generation Q5 gets an acoustic windshield as standard, and Audi offers acoustic glazing for the front side windows on request. That optional glass doesn’t change the rule: those windows sit beside the driver, so no film of any shade is road-legal on them. If you still want them done, the shop fits them for $140 once you’ve heard the risks: a tint ticket usually comes to $109, and police can also order the film stripped and the Q5 inspected. Which LLumar film suits a Q5?
ATC is the starting film, IRX rejects the most heat, and AIR keeps the glass close to clear. The LLumar spec sheet rates all three above 99% UV rejection.

Darkness stacks. Film over glass that is already tinted passes a share of a share, so 20% film on 20% glass leaves about 4%.
