Which chrome-look trim does a Q5 have?
It depends on the version. Audi’s launch material for the third-generation Q5 and Q5 Sportback sorts the exterior into versions, with the SQ5 styled on its own, and the bright and contrast trim changes with each.
| Current Q5 and Q5 Sportback | Trim Audi describes | What vinyl can cover |
|---|---|---|
| Advanced exterior | Grille and intake inlays in Scandium Gray, a Tambora Gray bottom line, rear inlays in Selenite Silver | Grille inlays, rear inlays, window trim |
| S line exterior | Grille frame, rocker trim and air-curtain accents in matte Anthracite chrome look | Grille frame, rockers, intake accents, window trim |
| SQ5 | The same pieces in matte Silver chrome look, plus vertical L-wing ornaments beside the grille | All of the above, plus the L-wing ornaments |
The Q5 Sportback release adds that “the window trim comes in an aluminum look as standard,” and the Q5 SUV release describes the S line’s air curtain tubes “with matt anthracite chrome-look accents.” Audi wrote both for the European launch and Canadian trim names differ, so photos tell the shop more than a trim name does.
What does Audi’s black exterior package already cover?
It’s the factory route to a similar look, offered only on some versions: Audi says the black exterior package “is also available for the exterior S line and the S model.” It’s chosen when the Q5 is ordered.
The idea goes back a generation. When Audi updated the second-generation Q5 in 2020, it listed a black trim package as an option, and the launch edition one paired it with black Audi rings front and rear, black roof rails and black mirrors, according to Audi’s 2020 Q5 update. Vinyl takes a Q5 that left the factory with its brightwork to a similar place, and the original finish is still there underneath. Whether that matters for resale is answered on whether a chrome delete is reversible.
Gloss or satin black over matte chrome-look trim?
Satin is the closer match on an S line or SQ5, because Audi already finishes those pieces matte; gloss black reads as a deliberate contrast. Both come in 3M and Avery Dennison cast film, and the shop holds samples against the car so you can see each one beside the paint.
The shop calls the window surrounds the single change that makes the biggest difference on most SUVs, and the window trim delete page covers how they’re wrapped. On any car, belt-line trim that meets an ice scraper every winter shows wear sooner than trim the scraper never touches.
Which Q5 parts need a decision before vinyl goes on?
Anything near the sensors. On the third-generation Q5, Audi says the large air intake below the Singleframe houses them, so settle how the intake accents and anything in front of that opening will be handled before the vinyl is ordered.
Badges are the other choice: the four rings and the model badges can stay bright or go black, and the shop takes them off where it can so the vinyl wraps the whole piece. The badge blackout page sets out the options. Lights are not part of a chrome delete; darker tail lights to match are a separate light-film job.
How do you book a Q5 chrome delete in Langley?
Send the year, SUV or Sportback, the version, and close photos of every bright piece you want gone. The shop prices the Q5 per vehicle and lists what it will cover across its three levels: window trim, front and rear trim, or a full blackout that adds mirror caps, door handles and roof rails.
Vinyl on a Q5 is covered by the shop’s published 5-year warranty, and anything removed to wrap it goes back with the right clips. Send it all through the Q5 chrome delete quote form, or phone 604 534 6433. If the front of the car is going under film as well, Audi Q5 PPF lists those packages.
