What does window tint cost on an Audi Q8?
From $260 in LLumar ATC for all the glass behind the driver, under the shop’s SUV rear package. On a Q8 that list is short: one window in each rear door and the window in the tailgate.
| Audi Q8 glass | What’s covered | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear package | Both rear door windows and the tailgate window | $260 |
| IRX or AIR ceramic | The same three panes in ceramic film | Quoted per package |
| Front doors, on request | The two windows beside the front seats | $140; film there is illegal on BC roads |
| Full windshield | Applied to the inside face | $200, only the top 75 mm is legal in BC |
Each piece is cut on a computerized plotter from the Q8’s own pattern, so no blade goes near the glass or the seals, and then heat-shrunk and squeegeed by hand. LLumar’s lifetime limited warranty covers the film; the shop’s lifetime warranty covers its work. On LLumar’s spec sheet, IRX rejects 50–62% of total solar energy against 28–44% for ATC, and every shade blocks over 99% of UV. The LLumar IRX page has each shade’s numbers.
Which windows sit behind the driver on a Q8?
Three panes. Audi’s rescue sheets for the 2018 to 2023 Q8 and the updated model both draw the side glass stopping at the rear doors, with solid body panel between there and the tailgate. The newer sheet also lists the Q8 as a “5-door, 5-seater,” so there’s no third row and no extended side glass.
That makes the Q8 a lighter job than a three-row SUV, where the same package takes in quarter glass and windows beside the third row. The Q8 starts from the same $260 figure, and SUV window tint shows that package on a bigger body.
Most of the hand work goes into the tailgate. Audi calls the Q8 an “SUV coupé” in its 2023 upgrade release, and that sloping roofline puts a raked, curved pane at the back. If it carries defroster lines, the film goes over them, and any later removal is done with steam so the grid survives.
Is the Q8’s side glass laminated or tempered?
Tempered as standard, with laminated side windows as an option on the Q8 built from 2023. Audi’s rescue sheet for that car marks the windshield as laminated glass, the door windows and the tailgate window as tempered glass, and “optional side windows” as laminated.
Film sits on the inside face of the pane in both cases, so it never reaches the layer inside laminated glass; tinting acoustic laminated side glass explains the detail. The bigger unknown is factory darkening. Audi’s press and rescue material gives no light-transmission figure for the Q8’s rear glass, and film multiplies with whatever the pane already passes: 20% film on 20% glass lets through about 4%. Stand beside the car in daylight and compare the rear doors with the front ones before choosing a shade.
What does BC law allow on a Q8’s front doors and windshield?
No film on the front doors and none below the top 75 mm of the windshield. MVAR s. 7.05(8) allows film on side windows behind the driver and on the rear window of a vehicle with outside mirrors on both sides, so all three of the Q8’s rear panes can be any darkness.
The two front door windows stay clear whether they’re tempered or the optional laminated kind. If you still want them done, the shop fits them for $140 after explaining that it isn’t road-legal, that the usual ticket is $109, and that police can order the film removed and the Q8 inspected. Front window tint in BC has the full rule.
How do you book Q8 tint in Langley?
Send the year, whether it’s the original Q8 or the updated car Audi announced in September 2023, and whether your door glass is the laminated option. Add the film you’re leaning toward, and the shop replies with the rear package price and the ceramic difference.
Allow two to four hours on the day. Once you’ve collected the Q8, keep the rear windows up for three to five days; a faint haze in that first week is moisture leaving the film. Book through the Q8 tint quote form or call 604 534 6433. The paint and trim can go on the same visit: see Audi Q8 PPF and the Q8 chrome delete.
