What does window tint cost on an Escalade?
The rear glass starts at $260 in LLumar ATC on the shop’s full-size SUV package: both rear doors, the quarter and side glass along the third row, and the liftgate window. The longer ESV starts from the same package price and is cut from its own pattern.
| Escalade glass | Covered | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear package, ATC | Rear doors, quarter and side glass, liftgate window | $260 |
| Rear package, IRX or AIR | The same glass in ceramic film | Quoted per package |
| Glass roof | Panoramic sunroof or SkyGlass | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front door windows | Driver and front passenger | $160, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, inside | The whole glass | $200, legal only in the top 75 mm |
The film is plotter-cut to the year and body, heat-shrunk to each curve by hand, and carries LLumar’s lifetime limited warranty plus the shop’s lifetime warranty on labour. Rear package plus roof in one visit normally comes in below the two list prices added together.
How dark is the Escalade’s glass before any film?
Already dark. Cadillac Canada’s 2026 Escalade comparison lists deep-tinted glass as standard on every trim, with “tint on rear side windows and rear liftgate window”; Cadillac’s build data files it under option code AKO. GM’s glass bulletin 21-NA-152, written for 2022 and earlier models, rates privacy glass with that code at “(nominally) 20%” light transmittance, and says it holds UV down to 10% or less.
Film multiplies with that 20%. Using the shades measured on LLumar’s spec sheet:
| Film | Film alone | Over 20% glass, roughly |
|---|---|---|
| AIR 80 | 77% | 15% |
| IRX 50 | 54% | 11% |
| ATC 35 | 38% | 8% |
| ATC 05 | 5% | 1% |
Those are estimates; the real result depends on your glass. If heat is the goal rather than darkness, the ceramic films do the work: IRX measures 59–61% infrared energy rejection (IRER) and AIR 80 measures 60%, against 22% for dyed ATC. How dark factory privacy glass is compares the figures other makers publish.
Does the opening liftgate glass change the job?
No, but it’s worth knowing it moves. GM’s PIT5941C for 2021–2025 Escalade and ESV models describes the rear back glass opening on its own with the rear switch or the key fob, and notes it won’t open if the rear wiper arm isn’t fully parked.
Film goes on the inside of that pane like any other window and never meets the rear wiper, which sweeps the outside. Cadillac lists a rear window defogger with a warming grid on every trim, so if old film there ever needs replacing, it’s steamed off, never scraped, and the grid survives.
Which Escalades have glass overhead?
On a 2026, every trim except the base Escalade has the panoramic power sunroof, according to Cadillac Canada. The 2027 comparison drops the base trim and makes the Power SkyGlass roof standard on the Luxury, Sport, Platinum Luxury, Platinum Sport and V-Series, describing glass that opens over the first and second rows with a power retractable sunshade.
Roof film is priced separately once the glass is measured. Whether it earns its place depends on how often you drive with the shade open; the sunroof tint page covers the options.
What can you legally tint on an Escalade in BC?
Everything behind the driver, at any darkness, under MVAR s. 7.05(8), and the liftgate glass too, since the Escalade has mirrors on both sides. The front doors are the exception. GM’s bulletin describes front door glass as solar glass passing 70% or more, and BC doesn’t let any film go on it, however light.
Cadillac lists acoustic laminated glass as standard without naming the panes, and that makes no difference to the rule. The windshield allows only the top 75 mm; on every 2026 trim except the base Escalade, and on every 2027, the head-up display projects onto it “low in the driver’s line of sight.” Front or windshield film is available on request, and the shop first explains that it fails inspection and can bring a ticket or an order to remove it. The door rules are in whether you can tint front windows in BC, and the windshield rule in whether windshield tint is legal in BC.
Booking Escalade tint in Langley
Tell the shop the year, the trim, whether it’s an Escalade or an ESV, and which film you’re weighing. A full-size SUV typically needs two to four hours in the bay, so it’s usually back with you the same afternoon. The windows then stay closed for three to five days. Get a price through the Escalade tint quote form, or text the shop at 604 534 6433.
