What does window tint cost on a Bronco?
On a four-door Bronco with the hard top, $260 in LLumar ATC buys film on the rear door windows, both quarter panes in the top and the liftgate glass. A two-door, or any Bronco running the soft top, has other panes, so the shop prices it from what’s actually on the truck.
| Bronco tint | Glass | From |
|---|---|---|
| SUV rear package, four-door hard top | Rear doors, quarter glass, liftgate glass | $260 |
| Those panes in IRX or AIR ceramic | Rear doors, quarter glass, liftgate glass | Quoted per package |
| Two-door, soft-top or dual-top Bronco | The windows fitted to your truck | Quoted per truck |
| Front doors | Driver’s and front passenger’s windows | $140; not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, from the inside | Windshield | $200; legal in BC only above the 75 mm line |
Each pane’s film is plotter-cut from a digital template, so no knife touches the Bronco’s glass or seals; heat and hand pressure shape it. Film and fitting both carry a lifetime warranty. Every package the shop sells is on the window tint price list.
Where is the glass on a hard top Bronco, and where on a soft top?
Behind the doors, most of the glass is part of the roof. Ford Canada fits a hard top as standard on 2-door Broncos and a soft top on 4-door models and sells a dual-top setup for any model, which is why two Broncos of the same year can need quite different film plans.
- Hard top. Ford’s Customer Satisfaction Program 21B49, written for 2021 hard tops, installs fixed quarter glass into the top’s rear cap with urethane and transfers the liftgate window glass to the new roof. For 2023 and 2024 trucks, recall 24V-142 covered rear quarter glass that may not have been fitted properly to the hard top.
- Soft top. The factory soft top’s rear quarter windows sit in a retaining channel and are made to come out. Ford’s bulletin 24-2330 deals with 2024 trucks where they were hard to remove.
Because the hard top’s glass lives in the roof, tint on those panes goes into storage with the top. Name the top on your truck when you ask, since the quote follows the fitted windows.
Does a Bronco’s quarter glass come with privacy tint?
It depends on the truck. The 21B49 parts list carries each hard top quarter pane in two versions, “With Tinted/Privacy” and “Less Tinted/Privacy”, for both the two-door and the four-door top. Ford doesn’t publish a light transmission figure for either.
That matters because film and factory tint multiply. Lay 20% film on a pane that already lets through 20%, and only about 4% of the light makes it in, darker than either number suggests; on lighter glass the same film looks much paler. Compare the quarter glass with the liftgate window before choosing.
For heat control without going darker, LLumar lists AIR 80 at 77% visible light transmission and 60% IR energy rejection (IRER) on its spec sheet. For what other makers publish about their privacy glass, read how dark factory privacy glass is.
What does BC tint law mean on a Bronco with the doors off?
The mirrors keep the rear glass legal; the front doors never are. Under MVAR s. 7.05(8), film may sit on side glass behind the driver, in the windshield’s top 75 mm, and on the back window of any vehicle with a mirror outside on the left and the right.
Ford Canada describes the Bronco’s side mirrors as cowl-mounted. They’re fixed to the body, not the doors, so the truck keeps both outside mirrors with the doors in their storage bags and the liftgate glass still meets that condition. The rule itself is explained in side mirrors and rear window tint in BC.
Front door glass gets no such allowance, clear film included, and nor does the windshield below its 75 mm strip. On that windshield, Transport Canada recall 2022-335 had dealers reinstall the glass on some 2022 Broncos and recalibrate the front camera if necessary, so check where that camera sits before asking for a strip. Should you want the Bronco’s front doors or entire windshield filmed anyway, the shop can do it, yet it first walks you through the consequences: the truck isn’t road-legal that way, the usual fine is $109, and police can demand the film come off. How do you book tint for your Bronco in Langley?
Tell the shop the year, door count, trim and top, and whether the quarter glass already looks dark. Pick the film by what bothers you most: ATC if it’s privacy, IRX if it’s heat, AIR if the glass should look as it does now. Most trucks are done the same day.
Don’t lower the Bronco’s windows for three to five days: that’s how long the film takes to dry, and any faint haze that week clears by itself. The quote form takes Bronco requests, or text your truck’s details to 604 534 6433. If stones off gravel roads worry you more than sun, Bronco PPF covers the paint.
