How much does GV80 window tint cost?
From $260 for the rear glass in LLumar ATC, the shop’s starting price for an SUV. Ceramic film, the roof and the front glass are priced separately.

Film is plotter-cut for the exact year and model, then heat-shrunk and fitted by hand, with a lifetime warranty on the film and the workmanship. LLumar’s performance data sheet puts IRX’s total solar energy rejection at 50 to 62% and ATC’s at 28 to 44%; UV rejection is over 99% for ATC, IRX and AIR alike.
Which GV80 windows have acoustic glass?
The windshield and the front doors. Genesis Canada’s 2026 and 2027 GV80 brochures, both in its Download Centre, list “Acoustic Laminated Glass (Noise Reducing, Front Windshield & Front Side Windows)” on every trim. The rear doors aren’t named in that line.
That matters less than it sounds for tint. The acoustic glass sits exactly where BC allows no film, the front doors, plus the windshield, where only a top strip is legal. The rear glass the package covers is the glass you’d tint anyway. Genesis’s smaller GV70 lists acoustic glass for the rear doors too; the GV70 tint page covers that difference.
How do the GV80’s rear door sunshades fit with tint?
They do different jobs. The 2027 brochure lists manual rear side window sunshades on the 2.5T and 3.5T Advanced Technology Package trims and power-operated ones on the 3.5T Prestige. The 2026 GV80 Owner’s Manual says the power shades are raised with the rear window switch: close the window, then pull the switch once more.
A shade blocks light only while it’s up, and it covers the glass from inside the cabin. Film works all the time, including with the shades stowed and the window partly down, and it cuts UV and solar heat, which Genesis doesn’t claim for the shades. The two work together: film on every drive, and the shades when you want the back of the cabin darker still.
Why does the GV80’s roof glass get its own quote?
Because it’s a large panel with a powered shade, and every 2027 GV80 has one. Genesis lists a panoramic sunroof with power tilt-and-slide on each 2027 trim, and the 2026 manual describes a power sunshade that slides under the glass to block direct sun.
Roof glass varies too much in size and curve for a posted price, so the shop quotes it per vehicle in ATC, IRX or AIR. What do Genesis and BC law say about the GV80’s windshield and front doors?
Both say no to full film. The 2026 GV80 manual tells owners not to tint the windshield or give it a metallic coating, warning that otherwise “the head-up display image may be invisible.” Every 2027 GV80 has a head-up display, and the manual adds that window tint on the windshield may stop the AUTO headlights working properly.
MVAR s. 7.05(8) allows film on the top 75 mm of the windshield and on any window behind the driver, the liftgate glass included since the GV80 has mirrors on both sides. The acoustic front door glass stays clear. If you still ask for front-door film, the shop sets out the risks before agreeing: it isn’t road-legal, a ticket typically runs $109, police can order it removed, and it fails inspection.
