What does window tint cost on a Genesis GV70?
The rear glass starts at $260 in LLumar ATC dyed film, using the shop’s SUV rear package. IRX or AIR ceramic on the same windows is priced per package, and the roof glass gets its own figure.

Every piece is cut on a plotter to the GV70’s own pattern, so the glass and trim never meet a blade, and both the film and the labour carry a lifetime warranty. A whole-vehicle job in one visit usually comes in under the list prices added together; ask for that figure.
How dark is a GV70’s glass before any film goes on?
Already dark behind the front seats. Genesis Canada’s 2026 and 2027 GV70 brochures, in its Download Centre, list “Tinted Glass (Solar Control + Privacy on Rear Side & Rear Glass)” as standard on every trim; the 2027 range runs from the 2.5T Select to the 3.5T Prestige Graphite.
Genesis doesn’t publish a light-transmission figure for that glass, so there’s no number to start from. What’s certain is that film and factory tint multiply: put 20% film over glass passing 20% and roughly 4% gets through. On a GV70, that means a mid shade can look much darker than its name suggests. Have the shop look at your glass before you settle on a percentage, and read how dark factory privacy glass is for the published ranges.
Can the GV70’s acoustic door glass be tinted?
Yes, on the rear doors. Genesis lists “Noise-Reducing Acoustic Laminated Glass” for the front windshield, front side windows and rear side windows on every 2026 and 2027 GV70. Its GV70 highlights page explains the purpose: “To reduce high-frequency driving noises, the windshield and all seat door glass have double-layered laminated glass.”
Film goes on the inside face of the glass, so the sound-damping layer sealed between the two sheets is never touched. The rear door glass therefore tints like any other rear window. What does Genesis say about film on the GV70 windshield?
Don’t. The 2026 GV70 Owner’s Manual says to “Never install any accessories, stickers, or tint the front windshield”, in its section on the front view camera that the driver assistance systems rely on. It also says the AUTO headlights may not work properly with window tint or a metallic coating on the windshield, because their sensor sits at the top of the glass.
The 2027 brochure fits a head-up display from the 2.5T Advanced Technology Package up, and rain-sensing wipers on every trim, so the GV70’s windshield is busy glass. What does BC law allow on a GV70?
Any darkness on the rear side windows and the liftgate glass, since every GV70 has power side mirrors on both doors. MVAR s. 7.05(8) keeps film off the front door glass entirely and limits the windshield to its top 75 mm.
The front door glass being acoustic and laminated doesn’t change that; it’s still a side window beside the driver. Film there is something the shop does only on request, and it tells you first what follows: a ticket that typically runs $109, a possible order to take it off, and a failed inspection.
