How much is window tint on a Hyundai Elantra?
The Elantra is priced as a sedan: $240 puts LLumar ATC on the two rear doors and the back window. IRX nano-ceramic or AIR clear ceramic on that glass is quoted per package, and the sunroof fitted from the Trend Package up has a price of its own.
| Elantra glass | Film | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear doors, any rear quarter glass, back window | LLumar ATC dyed | $240 |
| Same windows in ceramic | LLumar IRX or AIR | Quoted per package |
| Power tilt-and-slide sunroof | Any | Quoted per vehicle |
| Driver’s and passenger’s doors | Any | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Windshield, fitted from inside | Any | $200; the law allows the top 75 mm only |
Each piece is plotter-cut to the Elantra’s pattern, so no blade touches the glass, then heat-shrunk to the back window’s curve. Film and labour carry a lifetime warranty. The way the shop counts sedan windows is set out on the sedan window tint page.
Does the Elantra come with tinted rear glass?
No privacy glass is listed for it. Hyundai’s 2026 Elantra specification sheet shows solar glass as standard on all six US trims, from the SE to the N Line, and has no privacy glass row at all. Hyundai doesn’t publish a light-transmission figure for that glass.
So on an Elantra the film supplies nearly all of the darkness. LLumar measures its shades on clear 6 mm glass, so its performance data sheet is a fair guide here. ATC 50 passes 60% of visible light and ATC 05 passes 5%. IRX gives more heat control at a similar look: IRX 50 passes 54% of visible light while rejecting 50% of total solar energy (TSER), where ATC 50 rejects 28%. All of them stop more than 99% of UV.
What does Hyundai’s manual say about tinting an Elantra?
Three things, and none of them rules tint out. The 2026 Elantra convenience features chapter notes that tinted windows, “especially with metallic window tint”, can interfere with the key’s radio signal and shrink the distance it works from. The shop’s films avoid that problem: ATC is dyed, IRX and AIR are nano-ceramic, and none is metallized. Whether tint blocks phone or GPS signal explains why metal is the issue.
The same chapter says never to clean the back window with sharp tools or abrasive window cleaners, to protect the defroster. Tint sits over those heater lines on the inside, and old film is lifted with steam, never a blade, which keeps the grid intact. Hyundai Canada’s 2026 card adds an automatic rear window defogger from the Preferred with Trend Package up.
The maintenance chapter adds a note for installers: tinting solution must not run into the car’s electronic devices.
Which Elantra windows can take film in BC?
Everything behind the driver: the rear doors and the back window, in any shade, because every Elantra has an outside mirror on both sides. MVAR s. 7.05(8) keeps film off the front door glass entirely, and off the windshield except for its top 75 mm.
Hyundai is stricter about the windshield than the law is. Its 2025 driver assistance chapter places the front view camera near the top of the windshield, inside the car, and tells owners never to tint the front windshield. It names windshield tint among the things that can stop Smart Cruise Control working normally, and Hyundai Canada says High Beam Assist reads traffic through the same camera. That covers the whole windshield, sun strip included; windshield film and driver-assist cameras has more.
The shop will put film on the front doors if you ask, but it’s not road-legal here: police can write a $109 ticket and order it removed, and an inspection fails it. That’s explained before anything is cut, and tinting front windows in BC has the detail.
Can the Elantra’s sunroof be tinted?
Yes, on trims that have one, quoted apart from the rear package. Hyundai Canada fits a power tilt-and-slide sunroof from the Preferred with Trend Package up; in the US it starts at the SEL Sport Plus. The manual explains that the shade underneath is moved by hand, and that it slides back by itself when the glass opens but doesn’t follow when the glass closes.
Film on the roof glass keeps cutting heat and UV whenever that shade is left open. Pricing and fitting for roof glass are covered on the sunroof tint page.
How do you book Elantra tint in Langley?
Send the year, the trim and the film you’re leaning toward. Hyundai Canada’s 2026 lineup runs Essential, Preferred, Preferred with Trend Package, Luxury (also sold as a hybrid) and N Line Ultimate, and the trim settles whether there’s a sunroof to price.
Expect two to four hours in the bay and the car back the same day. Don’t open the windows for three to five days. Faint haze or tiny water pockets can show that week and fade without help. Request a price through the Elantra tint quote form, and look at Hyundai Elantra PPF if the paint needs protecting too.
