Is the Santa Cruz priced as a pickup or an SUV?
As a pickup. It has an open bed behind the cab, so its rear door windows and back glass take the shop’s $240 pickup package in LLumar ATC, and IRX or AIR ceramic on the same glass is quoted per package.
| Santa Cruz job | Glass | From |
|---|---|---|
| Pickup rear package | Rear door windows plus back glass or slider | $240 |
| IRX or AIR ceramic | The same glass | Quoted per package |
| Sunroof, where fitted | Roof glass | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front door windows | Driver’s and front passenger’s | $160, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, from the inside | 1 | $200, legal only in the top 75 mm |
The pieces are cut on the plotter to the Santa Cruz pattern, then heat-formed and squeegeed by hand, so nothing is trimmed with a knife on the truck. Film and labour carry a lifetime warranty, and the truck window tint page covers pickups in general.
Does your Santa Cruz have the sliding rear window?
Not necessarily; it depends on the trim. The 2025 Canadian owner’s manual says the truck “is equipped with a rear sliding window behind the rear seats”, opened by pushing a lock release lever and sliding it left. Hyundai USA’s 2027 chart lists the slider on the SEL Activity and XRT but not the SE, and rear privacy glass on all three.
Either way the price is the same; only the pattern changes. A fixed pane takes one sheet, while a slider simply means more pieces, because the pane that opens needs film of its own. It stays latched for the curing days.
Can tint weaken the Santa Cruz smart key or phone key?
Metallic film can, which is why the shop doesn’t use it. Hyundai’s manual lists tinted windows, “especially with metallic window tint”, among the things that can cause frequency interference and reduce the smart key’s operating range.
LLumar ATC is a dyed film and IRX and AIR are nano-ceramic, so none of the three has the metal layer that Hyundai’s warning is about; whether tint blocks phone and GPS signals explains the difference. The manual’s digital key section adds a broader note that “window tinting substances may cause poor Bluetooth connection”. If a phone key ever seems slow, its other advice is the first fix: don’t keep the phone in a back pocket or bag.
What does Hyundai’s manual say about the windshield?
That film on it can upset the forward camera. The driver assistance chapter says Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist may not work properly when the camera lens is affected by a “tinted, filmed or coated windshield”.
BC already restricts windshield film to the top 75 mm, so a strip is the most the truck could legally carry. Check where the camera sits before asking for one, and read windshield tint with an ADAS camera for how makers handle that zone.
What does BC allow on a Santa Cruz?
The rear door windows and the back glass at any shade, nothing on the front doors. Under MVAR s. 7.05(8), the back glass of a pickup, slider or not, is a rear window, and it may be filmed while both outside mirrors are in place, which they are on every Santa Cruz.
The driver’s and passenger’s windows can’t legally carry film of any shade. If you still want them done, it’s the $160 pickup rate and only after the shop has gone through the risks: a ticket that Mission RCMP says typically costs $109, and a possible order to remove the film and pass an inspection. See tinting front windows in BC for the regulation’s wording.
How do you book Santa Cruz tint in Langley?
Tell the shop the year and trim, whether the back glass slides, whether there’s a sunroof, and which film you want. Most trucks are finished the same day, and all the glass stays closed for three to five days afterwards.
If you’re cross-shopping small pickups, the Ford Maverick tint page covers the closest rival. Fill in the Santa Cruz quote form for a price, or ring 604 534 6433 if you’d rather talk it through.
