How much is window tint on a Kia Niro?
The rear glass on a Niro starts at $260 in LLumar ATC, the shop’s SUV rear package. That takes in the rear door windows, any quarter glass and the liftgate window, each piece cut on the plotter from the pattern for your model year.

The film and the shop’s labour both carry a lifetime warranty. If you add ceramic or the roof, ask for a single figure for the visit, since a bundle usually comes in under the list prices added together. The window tint price list shows how every package is made up.
What glass does each 2026 Niro trim have?
Kia fits privacy glass to every trim, but the roof and windshield equipment change as you go up the range. Kia Canada’s 2026 Niro Hybrid specifications and 2026 Niro EV specifications list the following:

So nobody tinting a 2026 Niro starts from clear rear glass, and a roof quote only applies to an EX Premium, SX or Wave. Earlier model years can differ, so give the shop the year as well as the trim.
How dark should film go over a Niro’s privacy glass?
Go lighter than you would on clear glass. Film and factory tint multiply: 20% film over glass that passes 20% of the light leaves roughly 4%, and Kia doesn’t publish a light-transmission figure for the Niro’s rear glass.
That splits the three films by purpose. On LLumar’s performance data sheet:
- ATC, the dyed film in the starting price, deepens the look and rejects 28–44% of total solar energy (TSER).
- IRX nano-ceramic rejects 50–62% TSER, for owners whose main complaint is heat on the back seat.
- AIR 80 lets 77% of visible light through and still rejects 60% of IR energy (IRER), so the glass keeps the shade Kia gave it.
Each one blocks over 99% of UV. Before settling on a number, read how dark factory privacy glass really is and look at your Niro in daylight.
Why does Kia say not to tint the Niro’s windshield?
Because a camera behind it reads the road. In Kia’s 2025 Niro owner’s manual, the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist section names the front view camera as a detecting sensor and says: “Never install any accessories or stickers on the windshield, or tint the windshield.”
Trims with the head-up display carry a second warning. The manual’s head-up display page reads: “Do not make the front windshield glass have window tint or other types of metallic coating. Otherwise, the Head-Up Display image may be invisible.” On a 2026 Niro, that means the Hybrid SX and the EV Wave.
BC allows film only in the top 75 mm of a windshield. The shop does tint full windshields from the inside on request, but on a Niro that cuts against both the manual and the regulation, and you’ll hear that before anyone quotes it. Can the Niro’s front door windows be tinted in BC?
Not legally. MVAR s. 7.05(8) allows film on side windows behind the driver, the top 75 mm of the windshield, and the rear window when there are outside mirrors on both sides. The Niro’s front door glass sits beside the driver, so film there breaks the rule whatever its shade, and that includes the laminated front door windows on the SX.
A ticket for it typically comes to $109, and an inspection rejects it under item 13d. The shop installs it only when asked and sets out the risk first; front window tint in BC has the rest. The liftgate window is different: with mirrors on both sides, it can take any shade.
