How much is window tint on a GLE?
A GLE sits in the SUV class, which starts at $260 in LLumar ATC for everything behind the front doors. Moving that GLE glass up to IRX or AIR is priced as a package upgrade, and roof glass gets its own figure.

The plotter works from the GLE’s pattern for its model year, so the film arrives cut and no knife is used on the glass or seals; heat and hand-fitting do the rest. The film carries LLumar’s lifetime warranty, and the installation carries the shop’s. Bundling the windows into one visit usually costs less than the list prices added up; the window tint pricing page lists every package.
Is the GLE’s roof glass already tinted?
Yes, by Mercedes’s own description. Mercedes-Benz Canada calls the GLE’s panoramic sunroof “a giant expanse of tinted glass”, with a power tilt and sliding panel over the first and second rows and a power sunshade beneath it.
The roof has grown over the generations. When the current GLE arrived for 2020, Mercedes-Benz USA listed an enlarged panoramic sliding sunroof with “a 50% larger viewing area” as a new option, in its GLE pricing release. For 2027 the panoramic sliding roof is standard, with more than 10.8 square feet (about one square metre) of glass, according to the 2027 GLE release. Mercedes publishes no light-transmission figure for that glass, so film is chosen against the roof you have; roof jobs are explained on the sunroof and panoramic roof tint page.
How does tint work with a third row and rear sunshades?
The film goes on the glass as usual; what changes is who sits behind it. Mercedes made a folding third row with two extra seats available on the current GLE from launch, per its 2018 GLE introduction, so the rear quarter glass can sit beside passengers rather than luggage.
For the 2026 model year Mercedes added optional power sunshades for the rear side windows, according to its 2026 model line updates. If your GLE has them, mention it when you book so the installer knows what’s fitted in those doors. A shade and film do different jobs: the shade blocks the view when it’s up, while film rejects heat and UV all the time. LLumar’s performance data sheet rates IRX at 50 to 62% total solar energy rejected, and every film the shop sells blocks more than 99% of UV.
Which GLE windows can legally take film in BC?
Behind the driver, any darkness; beside the driver, none. Read against a GLE, MVAR s. 7.05(8) clears the rear door glass, the quarter windows and the tailgate window for film, and keeps windshield film to a band no deeper than 75 mm.
With a mirror on each front door, a GLE meets the condition for filming its tailgate window. Film on its front doors ($140) or across the whole windshield ($200) can be fitted when an owner asks, yet a GLE driven that way isn’t road-legal: tickets typically come to $109, and an officer can require removal plus an inspection. How do you book GLE tint in Langley?
Send the year, the model (GLE 350, 450, 450e, 580 or AMG, SUV or Coupe), whether it has the third row or rear sunshades, and the film you’re considering. You’ll get the SUV package price, the ceramic difference and, if asked, a roof figure.
Budget two to four hours for a whole GLE; it’s normally ready the same afternoon. The rear door windows should stay up for three to five days, and a soft haze during that first week is the film drying out, not a defect.
