What does it cost to tint a Porsche Macan?
The rear package starts at $260 in ATC dyed film and takes in every window behind the driver, the tailgate included. Switching those windows to a ceramic film raises the package price, and a panoramic roof is priced separately.

The film arrives at the car already cut to the Macan’s year and model by the shop’s plotter, which keeps blades away from the glass and the rubber seals. Curved panes are then heat-formed and squeegeed by hand. A Macan is normally ready the same day, with lifetime warranties on both the film and the labour.
How does the Macan Electric’s glass differ from the gasoline Macan’s?
They’re two different generations sold side by side. Porsche Canada still lists the gasoline Macan, Macan T, Macan S and Macan GTS as 2026 models next to the Macan Electric, which Porsche’s Macan press kit describes as the model’s “second model generation”, all-electric, arriving ten years after the first.
- Frameless doors. Porsche lists them among the Electric’s design highlights; Porsche Canada’s description of the gasoline Macan doesn’t mention them.
- A long, low rear window. On the Electric, Porsche says the flyline “forms a coherent whole with the shallow-raked rear window”. Porsche Canada describes it as the “flat rear window”. Glass laid at that angle is wide and shallow, so it’s shaped with heat before the film goes down.
- An optional panoramic roof. The Electric’s adaptive rear spoiler takes into account “whether the optional panoramic roof is open or closed”, so it’s a roof that opens.

What about privacy glass and Porsche’s insulated glass on a Macan?
Both can be on your Macan, and neither stops film. In 2021 Porsche said its thermally and noise-insulated glass was available for all its four-door models, built as five layers with an acoustic film in the middle, and that it “can, of course, also be combined with the ever-popular privacy glass”.
Porsche doesn’t publish how much light its privacy glass passes, so plan your shade from what you see on the car. Film and dark glass multiply rather than add: a 35% film over glass passing 20% ends up near 7%. Can a Macan’s frameless front windows be tinted in BC?
No, not legally. MVAR s. 7.05(8) limits film to three places: side glass behind the driver, back glass when the vehicle has an outside mirror on each side, and a 75 mm band along the top of the windshield.
A frameless door is still the window beside the driver, so the Macan Electric’s front glass stays clear like any other car’s, and clear film counts as film. Every Macan has a mirror on each side, so the tailgate glass can take any shade. How do you book tint for a Macan?
Give the shop your model year, gasoline Macan or Macan Electric, the trim (T, S, GTS, 4S, Turbo and so on), and whether it has privacy glass or the panoramic roof. Then pick a film family. On LLumar’s spec sheet, IRX rejects 50–62% of total solar energy depending on shade, against 28–44% for ATC.
