How much is window tint on a Volkswagen Atlas?
From $260 for the rear glass in LLumar ATC dyed film: two rear doors, the side windows beside the third row and the tailgate glass. IRX nano-ceramic or AIR clear ceramic over the same windows is priced per package.
| Atlas package | Windows | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear glass, LLumar ATC | Rear doors, third-row side glass, tailgate | $260 |
| Rear glass, IRX or AIR ceramic | The same windows | Quoted per package |
| Panoramic sunroof | Roof glass | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front doors | Driver and front passenger | $140, but not legal in BC |
| Full windshield | Inside face | $200; BC allows the top 75 mm |
A computer plotter cuts the film to the Atlas’s year and shape, and each piece is heat-shrunk onto its pane by hand, so nothing sharp is drawn across the glass or trim. LLumar’s lifetime warranty covers the film, and the shop’s covers the labour. The full list of body-style prices is on the window tint price list.
What glass does the all-new 2027 Atlas come with?
Dark rear glass on every trim. Volkswagen Canada calls the 2027 Atlas all-new, with new sheet metal and a standard third row for seven, and its 2027 buyer’s guide lists “Dark Tinted glass (rear/trunk)” on the base Comfortline, carried up through Highline and Execline.
Volkswagen gives no percentage for that glass, so the finished darkness depends on it. Film multiplies with factory tint rather than adding to it: ATC 35 measures 38% on LLumar’s spec sheet, so over glass passing a fifth of the light it would leave about 8%. Look through your own rear glass on an overcast day before choosing, and read how dark factory privacy glass is for the range carmakers use.
The 2027 Comfortline also has second-row sunshades as standard. They help a sleeping child; film handles heat and UV on every window, including the third row the shades don’t reach.
Which Atlas trims add the panoramic sunroof and head-up display?
On the 2027 Atlas, both arrive with the Highline. The buyer’s guide adds a panoramic power sunroof and a head-up display at that trim, and the Execline keeps both.
The first-generation layout was different. Volkswagen Canada’s 2025 buyer’s guide also put the panoramic roof on the Highline but kept the head-up display for the Execline. If you’re buying used, check which you have before asking about roof film. For roof glass prices, read how a sunroof or panoramic roof is tinted.
Is a first-generation Atlas roof worth checking before tint?
Yes, on a 2018 to 2021 model. Volkswagen of America’s bulletin VWP-23-06 extended sunroof coverage on those Atlas years, prorated for seven years or 80,000 miles, for water getting into the cabin with the roof fully closed. For vehicles that fall under service actions 60E2 or 60E5, the bulletin requires that work to have been done before the leak for the extension to apply.
That program was written for US vehicles, so a Canadian owner should ask a Volkswagen Canada dealer what applies. Either way, have a leak sorted before anyone films the roof glass.
What BC lets you tint on an Atlas
Film of any shade on every window behind the driver, the tailgate included, since the Atlas has mirrors on both sides. Under MVAR s. 7.05(8), nothing may go on the front door glass, and the windshield may carry film only in its top 75 mm.
Front-door or full-windshield film is still available if you insist. Before anything goes on, you’ll hear the downside: it isn’t legal on BC roads, it can earn a $109 ticket plus an order to strip it, and a BC inspection rejects it. Tinting front windows in BC explains why.
Next step: an Atlas tint quote
Send the model year and trim, say whether it has the panoramic sunroof, and name the film you have in mind. If there’s a Tiguan in the driveway too, its glass is covered on the Tiguan tint page.
Expect the Atlas back the same day in most cases. Keep the side windows up for three to five days while the film cures, and clean it with a soft microfibre and an ammonia-free cleaner. Use the Atlas tint quote form or call 604 534 6433.
