Volvo XC60 Window Tint in Langley, BC

At a glance

A Volvo XC60 can be tinted from $260 in LLumar ATC on the shop's SUV rear package, which takes in both rear door windows, the side windows further back and the tailgate glass. IRX and AIR ceramic films cost more and are priced per package, and panoramic roof glass is quoted separately. The front doors ($140) and full windshield ($200) are done only when asked for, and neither is road-legal in BC.

How much does XC60 window tint cost?

From $260 in LLumar ATC, covering both rear door windows, the rearmost side windows and the tailgate glass. That’s the shop’s SUV rear package, and the figure doesn’t change with the trim. The roof and the ceramic films are where the price moves.

What you’re tinting Film From
Rear package ATC, 5, 15, 35 or 50% $260
Rear package IRX or AIR ceramic Priced per package
Panoramic roof glass Your choice Separate quote
Front door windows Any $140, on request, not road-legal in BC
Full windshield from the inside Any $200, on request, legal only in the top 75 mm

The spec sheet shows what the step up buys. ATC 35 measures 38% visible light and rejects 35% of total solar energy; IRX 35 measures 39% and rejects 54%. For the lightest option, AIR 90 measures 84% visible light. Every film blocks more than 99% of UV. A bundle that includes the roof usually costs less than the separate prices added together, so ask for that figure.

What should you check on an XC60’s rear window first?

The outside of the glass, for wiper marks. In TJ 33339, Volvo told dealers that on the XC60 it labels “(18-)”, the 2018 model year on, the rear wiper arm cover could touch the rear window, and the fix was to modify the cover. The journal files it under Volvo’s symptom code for rear glass that is “broken/chipped/cracked/distorted”.

Tint goes on the inside face of that glass, so a mark on the outside stays visible after the job. Check the glass around the wiper in low sun before booking, and if there’s damage, have it looked at before the tint goes on. Should old film on that window ever need replacing, steam lifts it, not a blade.

How does film work with the XC60’s panoramic roof?

Roof glass is quoted on its own, and it helps to know how the XC60’s roof moves. Volvo’s TJ 36262 for the 2022 XC60 explains that in ventilation mode “the front glass cover is raised at its rear edge,” and if the sun blind is fully closed when you choose that position it opens about 50 mm by itself.

So an XC60 parked with the roof on vent still lets some sun past the blind. Volvo’s July 2025 TJ 37418 goes further for XC60s from the 2022 model year on, advising owners to keep the sunroof closed when parked in strong sun to protect the interior materials. Roof film adds UV blocking to glass that is exposed whenever the blind is open, and the sunroof tint page covers how it’s priced.

Behind the driver, yes, at any darkness. MVAR s. 7.05(8) allows film on any side window behind the driver, and the tailgate window qualifies too because the XC60 has outside mirrors on both sides, which is what inspection item 14c looks for.

The two front door windows aren’t covered by that allowance at any shade, and item 13d of the inspection manual fails film there. The windshield can only carry a strip in the top 75 mm. Ask for front or windshield film and the shop will fit it, after setting out the consequences: a $109 ticket in the typical case, per the Mission RCMP, and possibly a Notice & Order to strip the film and pass inspection. Tinting front windows in BC sets out the details.

Booking XC60 tint in Langley

Send the model year, say whether the XC60 has the panoramic roof, and name the film you’re considering. If you’re unsure how dark the factory rear glass already is, window tint versus factory privacy glass explains what each does before you choose.

The rear package normally takes two to four hours, so it’s usually a same-day visit. Use the window tint quote form, or send those details by text to 604 534 6433.

Questions about XC60 window tint

01Does the XC60's tailgate window cost extra?

No. The tailgate glass is one of the windows in the $260 rear package, along with the rear doors and the side glass behind them. Only the roof and the ceramic upgrade are priced on top.

02Which shade is closest to factory-dark rear glass on an XC60?

There's no single answer, because film stacks on top of whatever the glass already blocks. Compare samples against your own windows in daylight; a 35% film on clear glass looks very different from the same film on tinted glass.

03How long should the XC60's windows stay closed after tint?

Three to five days, which is how long the film needs to cure. If you notice some haze or a bubble of moisture during that first week, leave it alone; it dries out.
