Which coating package fits an RS e-tron GT?
Pick by the paint’s condition and by whether the car has film. The coating is the same graphene-ceramic in each package; layer count, correction depth and coverage are what change, and the RS e-tron GT is quoted after inspection.
| Package | Prep underneath | Layers | Coverage on an RS e-tron GT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Machine polish, at least one stage | 1 | The paintwork |
| Performance | Two-stage correction | 2 | Paint, glass, wheel faces |
| Signature | Full correction | 4 | Paint, PPF, glass, wheels and trim |
Before any polishing, an RS e-tron GT is washed to decontaminate it, clayed, and measured with a paint-thickness gauge. The one to three days are mostly correction and curing time, and the coating then wants 24 dry hours. Add-ons, such as coating the wheels and calipers, the glass, or the leather and fabric inside, fit with any package.
Which RS e-tron GT finishes are matte?
On the RS e-tron GT performance, several optional ones. Audi’s performance release describes an optional “matte darkened carbon roof” and carbon camouflage trim for the bumper, rocker, diffuser and mirror housings, a finish Audi says was used for the first time and only on this version.
The 2024 e-tron GT release adds that the RS performance’s 21-inch wheel surface is “matte and darkened.” Polishing would put gloss into all of these, so point each one out at drop-off and settle its treatment before work begins. North American cars in Audi’s 299-unit exclusive edition could also have wheels in matte Neodymium Gold. Coating matte paint and trim explains the approach.
How do the RS e-tron GT’s colours affect the prep?
They decide how much correction shows. The 2024 range has nine finishes: solid Arkona White, the metallic or pearl Ascari Blue, Daytona Gray, Florett Silver, Kemora Gray, Mythos Black and Progressive Red, Nimbus Gray reserved for the RS models, and Bedford Green for the RS e-tron GT performance.
Black and deep grey show wash marring first, so on those the correction under the coating does most of the visible work. The exclusive edition’s Arabica Gray shifts, in Audi’s description, from dark in shade to golden in light. Earlier cars from the 2021 launch came in a different palette, including Tactical Green and Tango Red, so give the colour by name when you ask for a quote.
What does a coating do for an RS e-tron GT’s wheels and brakes?
It makes brake dust easier to rinse off, according to the shop, which matters on wheels as large as the RS e-tron GT’s 21-inch options. Audi fits the RS models with tungsten carbide-coated discs, with calipers in black, red or orange, and offers carbon-fibre ceramic discs with anthracite calipers, red on request.
Wheel faces are part of the Performance package; coating the full wheel and the calipers can be added to any of the three. Earlier cars could also have aero blades on the 20- and 21-inch wheels, thin high-performance plastic covers that Audi says are only 2 to 3 mm thick, so mention them when you book. More on coating wheels.
How do you book an RS e-tron GT coating in Langley?
Send the year, the version, the colour by name, any matte or carbon options and whether the car already has PPF. Where the car is getting film as well, the film is fitted before the coating and Signature covers both, as described on ceramic coating over PPF.
The RS e-tron GT stays one to three days, then needs a dry first day. Request your price with the RS e-tron GT coating request or by phone on 604 534 6433, and see Audi RS e-tron GT PPF for the film packages.
