What does PPF cost on an Audi RS e-tron GT?
Prices for an RS e-tron GT open at $850 for the smallest Platinum package and $4,000 for full coverage, with Full Front and Track in between. Where a given car lands above those numbers depends on its intakes and blades, any carbon trim and how much paint prep it needs.
| Package | From | On an RS e-tron GT | Days in the shop |
|---|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | $850 | Bumper, a band across hood and fenders, lights, mirrors | One |
| Full Front | $1,550 | Hood and front fenders edge to edge, bumper, headlights, mirrors | One or two |
| Track Package | $1,900 | Full Front, A-pillars, the roof’s front edge, rockers | One or two |
| Full Vehicle | $4,000 | All painted bodywork including the rear blisters, plus headlights | Three to five |
Platinum’s top coat recovers from light marks when warmed, and its shapes are cut by software rather than by hand on the paint. Edges tuck around the panel where there’s room; if a relief cut is unavoidable, most often on a bumper, the shop marks it for you to see first. LLumar’s Platinum Gloss warranty runs 10 years (limited); the four failures the shop’s own terms promise to cover are yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling.
Which RS e-tron GT panels catch the most grit?
The nose, the sills and the front of the rear arches. Audi’s 2021 design notes put the car at 4.99 m long, 1.96 m wide and just 1.41 m high, and say its quattro blisters appear on many Audis but “nowhere else are they as strongly pronounced as here.”
Wide, low and flared means a lot of paint sits in the line of fire. At the front, upright air curtains steer air into the wheel arches and release it through outlets at the back of each fender, so those openings and the bumper corners around them face the road directly. Behind the front wheels, the sills and the leading edge of each rear blister take what the tires kick up. Audi also notes the outer skin is “made entirely of aluminum sheets,” with a side panel frame drawn 35 cm deep. A Full Front leaves the sills and blisters bare, so long highway drives favour the Track Package or full coverage, and the Full Front versus full body comparison sets out the trade-off.
How do the radar, cameras and moving aero affect the film?
They decide where the film must stop or open. Audi’s driver assist notes say the e-tron GT’s systems can draw on up to five radar sensors, five cameras, a thermal imaging camera for night vision and 12 ultrasonic sensors, depending on options.
The body moves, too. Two controllable cooling inlets sit behind the front mask and the Singleframe, opening for brake cooling and thermal management, and the rear spoiler extends to a first position at 90 km/h and a second at 170 km/h. Before cutting begins, ask the shop to walk you through how your year’s template treats the sensors, the inlet openings and the spoiler edges.
How should film handle the RS e-tron GT’s blades and carbon?
Match the plan to the trim your car has. Audi’s 2024 release gives the updated RS e-tron GT L-shaped blades in the bumper painted body colour as standard, while the Black Optics package turns those blades and the diffuser’s aero channels high-gloss black.
The RS e-tron GT performance adds options of its own: a matte, darkened carbon roof and, per Audi’s performance release, carbon camouflage on the bumper inlays, rocker panel, parts of the diffuser and the mirrors. Painted blades are filmed like any panel. Bare carbon can be covered or left, and on matte carbon a gloss film would add shine, so Platinum Matte or no film are the honest choices. Matte PPF shows the difference.
Where do you start with PPF on an RS e-tron GT?
Send the model year, the exact version, the colour and whether it has Black Optics or carbon options. Any grime or swirling on the e-tron GT’s aluminum panels gets dealt with first, by decontamination and correction where needed, since whatever stays on the paint ends up sealed beneath the film.
The RS e-tron GT’s first wash should wait seven days from pickup; after that, use a mitt or a touchless bay, and keep any pressure wand off the film’s edges. Ask for a figure on the RS e-tron GT PPF request or call 604 534 6433. Electric cars have their own guide in PPF for electric vehicles.
