How is a Range Rover Sport coating priced?
Per vehicle, once the paint has been looked over under bright, even light. The package you choose sets the layers and the correction; the Sport itself sets the hours.
| Package | Correction before coating | Coated on a Range Rover Sport |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | None beyond decontamination | Painted body, one layer |
| Performance | Two-stage | Paint, wheel faces and glass, two layers |
| Signature | Full | Four layers over paint, any film, full wheels, glass and trim |
Several Sport details move the number. Land Rover fits wheels from 20 to 23 inches, SV Carbon models carry exposed carbon trim, and some Sports leave the factory under a satin film rather than bare paint. Graphene-ceramic is the coating in every package, and the ceramic coating page lists the add-ons.
What has Land Rover said about paint and trim marks on the current Sport?
Enough to show why the shop inspects before it quotes. A Land Rover retailer note for the 2023 model year Range Rover Sport (L461) describes scuffing on the rear quarter glass finisher when the tailgate is open, caused by the spoiler’s winglet seals rubbing it. Land Rover’s fix was to remove the seals, and the note says the marks “should easily be removed with suitable polish.”
A second note, campaign N949, covered 2025 Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two vehicles whose paint showed a “blooming” effect after intensive factory polishing; 98 US and 3 Canadian vehicles needed an extra final polish before delivery. A coating seals in whatever is on the surface, so any marks like these are dealt with, by the dealer or by correction, before the first layer.
On dark paint, wash marks and swirls show quickly, which is why the shop measures and corrects before Performance or Signature. Dark colours get their own discussion in whether coating suits a black car.
Can a Sport with Land Rover’s Satin Protective Film be coated?
Ask first, because the satin look on these Sports comes from a film, not the paint. Land Rover pitches it as a layer that keeps the paint “in pristine condition for longer” while giving “a distinctive satin finish”, and limits it to five paint colours.
Satin surfaces can’t be polished glossy and still look right, and Land Rover’s satin matte care advice says the same of its satin paint: no polishing or waxing, products made for satin, hand washing with light pressure. How the shop coats over aftermarket film is set out on coating over PPF; for a factory film, the shop looks at the Sport and checks Land Rover’s guidance before quoting.
What about the carbon fibre on SV models?
It counts as trim, and trim is coated in Signature. SV Carbon buyers choose between bare and painted carbon for the hood, per the Range Rover Sport SV page, and the SV Carbon model brings Forged or Twill carbon accents to the grille, the vents and the exhaust tips.
Paint over carbon gets the same treatment as every other painted panel. Bare carbon and those accents should be listed by name in the quote, so you know exactly which ones the coating reaches.
How do I book a coating for a Range Rover Sport?
Share the year, the trim and paint colour, plus a note on any satin film or bare carbon. Daylight photos of the paint, including the quarter glass finishers beside the tailgate, help the shop judge correction time.
Expect to leave the Sport for one to three days; more correction means the longer end. For the first 24 hours afterwards, no rain and no washing. The coating quote form is the place to start, 604 534 6433 the number to ring, and Range Rover Sport PPF should go on first if you want film under the coating.
