What do PPF packages cost on an iX?
In LLumar Platinum, the iX starts at $850 for the Partial Front, $1,550 for the Full Front, $1,900 for the Track Package and $4,000 for everything. On a vehicle the size of the iX, treat those as floors: the final price follows the surface area, the panel shapes and the paint’s condition.
| Package | iX coverage | Starts at |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | Full bumper, front section of the hood and fenders, headlights, mirrors | $850 |
| Full Front | The whole hood, both front fenders, bumper, headlights, mirrors | $1,550 |
| Track Package | Full Front plus the A-pillars, leading roof section and rockers | $1,900 |
| Full Vehicle | All paint on the SUV plus the headlights | $4,000 |
Film is cut from software templates and wrapped around edges where the panel allows; if a bumper needs a relief cut, you’re shown where first. Paint is decontaminated, and corrected if it needs it, before anything goes on. LLumar’s 10-year limited warranty stands behind Platinum, and the shop publishes yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling as covered faults.
Does the iX’s grille need film?
It isn’t part of the packages, and BMW gives it protection of its own. The 2022 iX launch release explains that the kidney grille is completely closed and works as an “intelligence panel”, with camera, radar and other sensors behind a transparent surface along with their heating and cleaning systems. BMW adds a polyurethane coating that, it says, repairs minor scratches within 24 hours at room temperature or after five minutes of warm air.
That’s the same idea as self-healing PPF, applied by the factory. Film packages are drawn around paint, lamps and mirrors, which leaves the grille out. What self-healing PPF means explains how the film version works on paint.
How is film fitted on the iX’s one-piece hood?
As one large piece shaped to a deeply sculpted panel. BMW says the iX hood runs all the way up to the headlights and the grille, with its lines meeting at the BMW roundel, and that the hood has no opening mechanism for the owner; only workshop technicians open it.
The roundel above the grille is functional: it’s the washer fluid filler, and it opens with a gentle push. So any hood film has to leave it free to open. Below the hood, BMW fits six ultrasonic sensors in each of the front and rear bumpers and radar sensors at both front and rear corners, which the bumper pieces are planned around. Let the shop know which assistance options your iX has.
Which iX finishes need a different approach?
Matte paint and the non-paint trim. The 2026 iX colour list in BMW USA’s new iX release includes the BMW Individual matte Frozen Deep Grey metallic, which should get LLumar Platinum Matte so it stays flat. The same release offers a Titanium Bronze Exterior Line on the xDrive45 and xDrive60 and gives the M70 black mirror caps; BMW Canada’s 2023 iX M60 release describes Titanium Bronze exterior trim on that model too.
Earlier iX models run a black band around the lower edge of the whole body, while the 2026 update paints more of the front and rear aprons in body colour. That changes how much paint the rocker coverage in the Track Package actually protects, so check your car. The rocker panel PPF page explains that coverage.
How do you book PPF for an iX in Langley?
Send the model year, the version, the paint name (say if it’s Frozen) and the package you’re considering. You’ll get a price for that iX and the time it needs in the shop.
Expect about a day for the Partial Front, one to two days for the Full Front or Track Package, and three to five for full coverage. Wait a week before the first wash, as the shop advises (LLumar’s FAQ says three days), and keep pressure-washer nozzles off film edges after that. For a whole-SUV plan, the full body PPF page sets out what’s included, and iX window tint can be booked alongside. Ask through the iX PPF quote form or call 604 534 6433.
