Land Rover Defender Wrap in Langley, BC

At a glance

Wrapping a Land Rover Defender in 3M or Avery Dennison cast film is quoted vehicle by vehicle, for anything from a whole-body colour change to a roof, hood or decal set, and the vinyl carries five years under the shop's published terms. Land Rover sells its own Patagonia White Matte Wrap from the factory; on a Defender you already own, aftermarket vinyl gives you any colour or finish and can be taken off later.

What does a Defender wrap cost?

It’s quoted per Defender, because a 90, 110 and 130 carry very different amounts of panel, and the trim fitted changes the work. Film for a Defender comes from 3M’s or Avery Dennison’s cast ranges.

What changes the price On a Defender
Body length A two-door 90, the five-door 110 or the longer 130
Coverage Full colour change, or roof, hood, decals and accents only
Trim and accessories Claddings, sills, side steps, arch protection and spare wheel cover
Finish Gloss, satin or matte, plus colour-shift or metallic films

3M sets its 2080 warranty by the way a panel faces. Canada sits in 3M’s Zone 2 (3M zone list), where the 3M warranty card allows 7 years for upright Defender doors and sides but 2 for the flat roof and hood. Avery’s BC zone isn’t settled, so ask about it if you choose Avery. General pricing factors are on the vinyl wrap cost page.

How does vinyl compare with Land Rover’s own matte wrap?

They’re the same idea at different points in the vehicle’s life. Land Rover offers a Patagonia White Matte Wrap from the factory, extended in July 2026 to the X and Vertex alongside the V8 and OCTA, according to JLR, and Land Rover Canada lists it beside its Matte and Gloss Protective Film options (options and accessories).

The factory wrap is chosen when the Defender is ordered, in one colour. Aftermarket vinyl goes on a Defender that’s already built, in whatever shade 3M or Avery Dennison make, and can come off when you sell. For the full process of changing colour, see the colour change wrap page.

Which Defender trim comes off for a wrap?

Some of it, and Land Rover’s own service messages show how it’s held on. That’s worth knowing before the quote:

  • Claddings and sills. SSM 74762 says the lantern clips that hold the Defender’s claddings and sills are one-time use, and lists accessories such as mudflaps, fixed side steps for the 90 and 110 and cosmetic side tubes as needing up to 30 new clips when fitted.
  • C-pillar finisher. SSM 74962 describes the exterior C-pillar finisher as applied with double-sided tape and clips, with care needed so neither is damaged on removal.
  • Accessory arch protection. SSM76493 shows Land Rover bonds this kit to the paint with tape, forbids painting it, and wants the body panel between 10 and 40 °C when it’s fitted.

Ask the quote to say which parts come off, which the vinyl is trimmed around, and whether new clips are included. Vertex owners have more body colour to deal with: JLR says the Vertex adds body-coloured lower cladding.

Can you wrap only the roof or hood on a Defender?

Yes, and Land Rover’s own options point the way. The roof can be ordered to match the body or in a contrasting black or white, and the Explorer Package adds a Matte Black Hood Decal (Land Rover Canada). JLR’s 2027 model-year press kit adds that the Defender X wears a Gloss Black contrast hood as standard.

JLR’s July 2026 release also says the Trophy Edition’s side graphics and bonnet decals are accented in Sandglow Yellow, and that the accessory tail door spoiler comes in Gloss Black, Fuji White or Santorini Black, or primed for body colour. All of those looks can be copied in vinyl on a Defender built without them. The roof wrap and hood wrap pages cover the single-panel jobs.

How do you book a Defender wrap in Langley?

Send photos from each corner, the year and body, the trim, and any accessories fitted, from side steps to arch protection, with the colour or finish you want. Mention any chips, since vinyl shows what’s underneath.

The quote lists the coverage, what comes off and what stays. If the hood and bumper also need chip protection, the Defender PPF page covers that. Ask for a Defender wrap price via the quote form; colour questions can go straight to 604 534 6433.

Questions about defender wrap

01Can vinyl match the look of Land Rover's Patagonia White Matte Wrap?

A matte white cast vinyl gives a similar look, but the exact shade comes from 3M's or Avery Dennison's ranges. Ask to see samples against your Defender in daylight.

02Do the side steps have to come off for a Defender wrap?

Not always; it depends how far the vinyl has to run behind them. If they do, Land Rover's own bulletin says the clips that hold claddings and sills are single-use, so new clips are part of the job.

03Will a wrap protect a Defender from stone chips?

Only a little. Cast vinyl is mainly about colour; for chips on the hood and bumper, paint protection film is the product to price.

04Can a wrapped Defender go back to its original colour?

Yes. Heat releases cast vinyl, leaving the Defender's factory paint, which matters at resale or lease return.
