What does a Taycan wrap involve?
Anything from a single panel to the whole car. A full colour change covers every exterior panel, with door jambs available, and takes three to five days; a roof, mirrors or accents take from the same day to two days. Every Taycan is quoted on its own.

The film is 3M or Avery Dennison cast vinyl, which comes off healthy factory paint cleanly with heat, so the Porsche colour is still underneath when you want it back. Which Taycan trim is already black, silver or Turbonite?
It changes with the version and the year, which is why the shop asks for both. Porsche’s own launch material shows the side window trims alone in four finishes:

The sources are the 2022 Sport Turismo release, the 2019 Turbo press kit and the 2024 press kit, which also notes that Porsche offers the Turbo’s Sport Design package in carbon, high-gloss black, body colour or Turbonite. What happens to the Cross Turismo’s black cladding?
It can stay black or go under the new colour. The Cross Turismo has black wheel arch trims and lower sections, and its front apron inlay is painted Brilliant Silver on most versions, with Vesuvius Grey or high-gloss black as options and carbon on the Turbo S, according to Porsche’s Cross Turismo press kit. The roof ends in a fixed spoiler finished in high-gloss black.
Leaving the cladding black keeps the off-road look Porsche designed; wrapping the silver inlays in the new colour, or in black, changes the whole lower line of the car. List the parts you want covered when you ask for a quote, and the price will follow that list.
How long does vinyl last on a Taycan’s hood and roof?
Less on the flat surfaces than on the sides. For its 2080 film, 3M’s warranty card sets Zone 2 cover at 7 years for vertical panels but only 2 for horizontal ones, and Canada sits in Zone 2 on 3M’s zone list. On a Taycan, the long, flat-angled hood and the roof are the horizontal faces that take the most sun and rain.
The shop’s own published term is 5 years on the vinyl. Which Avery Dennison zone applies to BC is unconfirmed, so ask about Avery’s terms at the quote. Garaging and hand washing help every panel; washing a wrapped car covers the routine.
