What does window tint cost on a BMW M5?
An M5 sedan starts at $240 in LLumar ATC dyed film for every window behind the front seats. The M5 Touring starts at $260, because its glass is priced on the wagon package. IRX nano-ceramic or near-clear AIR on the same panes is quoted per car.
| M5 glass | What’s covered | From |
|---|---|---|
| Sedan rear package | Both rear door windows, any quarter glass in the rear pillars, the back glass | $240 |
| Touring rear package | Rear door windows, quarter glass and the tailgate window | $260 |
| Ceramic upgrade | IRX or AIR on the same panes | Quoted per car |
| Panoramic glass roof (2025 on) | The fixed roof panel | Quoted per car |
| M5 front doors | Both front door windows, on request | $140; illegal on BC roads |
| M5 windshield, full | Filmed from inside the cabin | $200; BC allows only a 75 mm top strip |
Each piece is cut on the shop’s plotter from the pattern for your M5’s year and body, so no blade goes near the glass or the window surrounds, then heat-shrunk and laid by hand. The film carries LLumar’s lifetime limited warranty, and the shop warranties its labour for life. Prices for every other body style sit on the window tint price list.
Does the 2025 M5 have a glass roof?
Yes, as standard. BMW Canada’s launch release for the 2025 M5 lists the Sky Lounge Panoramic Roof as standard: one fixed glass panel running from just behind the windscreen almost to the rear window, shaded by an electric roller blind. BMW says its opening is almost 90 percent larger than a conventional tilt and slide sunroof.
The exception is an M5 ordered with the optional M Carbon roof, which BMW says cuts more than 30 kg and comes in a package with carbon mirror caps and a carbon rear spoiler. A carbon roof has no glass to film. On a glass-roof car the roof sits outside the rear package and gets its own price; panoramic roof tint explains how that’s worked out. For a 2018 to 2024 M5, the quote starts from whatever roof your car was built with.
How is the M5 Touring’s glass priced?
As a wagon: from $260 for everything behind the front doors, tailgate window included. The car is new here. BMW Canada’s M5 Touring release calls it the first M5 Touring ever offered in Canada.
Its glass differs from the sedan’s at the back and overhead. BMW describes a greenhouse that tapers towards the rear, a tailgate that opens and closes automatically, and a Sky Lounge roof that works as a structural module, runs far towards the back of the car and is edged by high-gloss black roof strips. With the 40:20:40 rear seats folded, BMW’s preliminary figure is 1,630 L of load space, and the rear side glass and tailgate window are what shade it. That tailgate pane counts as a rear window under BC’s rule, so it can take any shade.
Where does BC law stop film on an M5?
At the front doors. On an M5 sedan or Touring, every pane behind the driver can be filmed at any darkness, while the two front door windows and all but the top strip of the windshield can’t take film at all.
The rule is MVAR s. 7.05(8): side windows behind the driver are open to film, the back glass or tailgate window is too when outside mirrors are fitted on both sides, and the windshield gets nothing below its top 75 mm. Clear film still counts. The shop will tint an M5’s front doors ($140) or full windshield ($200) if you ask, but the car isn’t road-legal that way. A ticket typically runs $109, police can order the film off and the car inspected, and you’ll hear all of that before you decide. The full picture is on tinting front windows in BC.
Which LLumar film suits an M5?
ATC is the film in the starting price, dyed and colour-stable, rejecting 28 to 44% of total solar energy (TSER) on LLumar’s performance data sheet. IRX nano-ceramic rejects 50 to 62% TSER, for owners who want heat control along with shade. AIR 80 is for glass that should look untouched: it passes 77% of visible light and still rejects 60% of infrared energy (IRER).
ATC, IRX and AIR each stop more than 99% of UV. A darker shade doesn’t add UV protection, so choose the shade for looks and privacy and the film type for heat. IRX against AIR puts the two ceramics side by side.
How do you book M5 tint in Langley?
Tell the shop the year, sedan or Touring, and whether the roof is glass or carbon. You’ll get the rear package price, the ceramic difference and a roof figure if you want one.
Most cars leave the same day, and a full tint usually takes two to four hours. Keep the filmed windows closed for three to five days afterwards; a light haze in the first week is moisture drying out. If the paint needs protecting as well, M5 paint protection film can go into the same visit. Send your details through the M5 tint quote form or call 604 534 6433.
