What does window tint cost on a Lexus GX?
A GX starts on the SUV rear package. In LLumar ATC that’s $260 for the rear door windows, rear side glass and back glass; ceramic IRX or AIR for those windows is priced by the package, and any roof glass is quoted after a look.
| GX glass | Film | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear doors, rear side windows, back glass | LLumar ATC dyed | $260 |
| The same windows in ceramic | LLumar IRX or AIR | Priced per package |
| Moonroof or panoramic roof | Ask | Quoted for the GX |
| Front door windows | Any | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Windshield, full | Any | $200; the legal limit is the top 75 mm |
Every GX pattern is plotted by computer for its year, make and model, with no blade work on the glass or seals, and heat shapes the film before it’s fitted by hand. There’s a lifetime warranty on both halves of the job: LLumar’s limited warranty for the film, the shop’s own for the installation. Other SUVs on the same package are covered on the SUV window tint page.
How dark is the GX’s glass before any film?
Already tinted, though no light-transmission figure for it appears in Lexus’s material. The 2027 GX product summary for British Columbia lists rear privacy glass and rear side window privacy glass on all six grades: Signature, Premium, Luxury, Executive, Overtrail and Overtrail+.
Film and factory glass multiply. A film passing 20% of the light over glass passing 20% lands near 4%, which is very dark from the driver’s seat at night. LLumar’s own shade names add a trap: ATC 50 measures 60% on its spec sheet and IRX 05 measures 6%, because the name is a product code. Look at your GX’s glass in daylight with samples held against it; tint versus factory privacy glass compares the two.
Can the GX’s flip-up hatch glass be tinted?
Yes, and it’s part of the package. Lexus Canada lists “flip-up rear hatch glass” as standard on every grade, and Lexus USA’s launch release for the all-new 2024 GX describes a “standard power rear lift door (GX first) with a pop-out window”.
That pane has its own outline inside the rear door, so the film is plotted to it and applied to its inside face. It still opens on its hinge afterwards. The rear window defogger lines sit under the film as they do on any heated back glass.
Does the GX’s roof take film?
It depends on the grade. The 2027 GX specifications give the Executive a panoramic moonroof with a dimming feature; the Signature, Premium, Luxury, Overtrail and Overtrail+ have a power slide and tilt moonroof instead.
A conventional moonroof can take film, and it’s quoted after the shop sees the glass. A roof that dims itself is a different product, so the Executive’s roof is one to look at in person before any film is discussed. The sunroof tint page covers what’s involved.
What can go on a GX’s windshield and front doors in BC?
No film goes on the front door glass, and the windshield can take it only in the top 75 mm. MVAR s. 7.05(8) allows any darkness behind the driver, and on the hatch glass because the GX has outside mirrors on both sides, but the front doors are off limits even to clear film.
Lexus Canada lists a head-up display, which projects onto the windshield, on the Premium, Luxury, Executive and Overtrail+. If you still want front door or full windshield film, the shop will fit it on request after going through what can follow: a fine, a police order to strip it and pass an inspection, and an inspection fail. More on the rule: tinting front windows in BC.
How do you book GX tint in Langley?
Give the model year and grade, which settle the roof and the package. The current GX arrived as an all-new 2024 model on the GA-F platform it shares with the LX 600, according to Lexus; earlier GX models are priced from the same package. Most GX jobs take two to four hours. Leave the side windows closed for the three to five days the film needs to cure. Prices come from the GX tint quote form; texts go to 604 534 6433.
