What changed at the back of the Frontier’s cab for 2025?
The slider became standard. Nissan’s 2025 Frontier press kit says “all Frontier grades now come with a standard sliding rear window”, part of the refresh that also brought a new front fascia.
A footnote adds that the slider wasn’t available when the 2025 trucks first went on sale, with availability expected in December 2024. An early 2025 Frontier may therefore wear a one-piece back window while a later one has a slider, even on the same grade. The 2026 specification sheets list the sliding rear cab window as standard for both King Cab and Crew Cab.
For tint, the difference is only in the pattern. A one-piece window takes a single sheet of film, while a slider’s moving panel is filmed apart from the fixed glass beside it so it keeps sliding.
What does the pickup package cost on a Frontier?
From $240 in LLumar ATC for the rear door windows and the back window, slider or not. IRX or AIR ceramic on the same glass is quoted per package.
| Frontier job | Glass | From |
|---|---|---|
| Pickup rear package | Rear door windows and back window | $240 |
| IRX or AIR ceramic | The same glass | Quoted per package |
| Moonroof, where fitted | Roof glass | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front door windows | Driver’s and front passenger’s | $160, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, from the inside | 1 | $200, legal only in the top 75 mm |
Every piece comes off the plotter cut for the Frontier, so nothing is trimmed with a blade on the truck, and the shop’s lifetime warranty covers both film and workmanship. Pickups as a class are covered on the truck window tint page.
How dark is a Frontier’s back window from the factory?
Tinted, though Nissan gives no figure. The 2027 Frontier specifications on Nissan Canada list “rear-window tinted privacy glass” among the exterior equipment on the Crew Cab PRO-4X versions shown there, alongside an auto tilt-and-slide moonroof.
Film multiplies with that tint rather than replacing it. A 20% film laid over 20% glass lets through only about 4% of visible light, so a shade that looks moderate on a sample board can turn the back window very dark. If heat is the goal more than privacy, IRX keeps out 50 to 62% of total solar energy (TSER) on LLumar’s spec sheet, and AIR 80 does it at 77% visible light. How dark factory privacy glass is helps you gauge your starting point.
What does BC allow on a Frontier?
The rear doors and back window at any darkness, and no film on the front doors. Under MVAR s. 7.05(8), side glass behind the driver can be tinted freely, and the back window, sliding or fixed, counts as a rear window that may carry film while there’s an outside mirror on each side. Nissan Canada lists power heated outside mirrors on both sides of the Frontier.
The driver’s and passenger’s door windows are outside the rule at every shade. The shop will still film them at the $160 pickup rate for an owner who insists, after explaining the typical $109 ticket Mission RCMP describes and the chance of a police order to strip the film and pass an inspection. More on the rule is in the answer on front window tint in BC.
How do you book Frontier tint in Langley?
Give the shop the model year, King Cab or Crew Cab, the grade, and whether the back window slides. The 2026 lineup pairs the King Cab with the S grade only, and the two cabs carry different glass behind the driver, so the cab matters as much as the grade.
A Frontier is normally finished within the day, and the door glass and slider then stay shut for three to five days. For a close rival, see the Ford Ranger tint page or the Toyota Tacoma’s. Send it all through the Frontier tint quote form, or by text to 604 534 6433, and the shop replies with a figure.
