How much is window tint on an R1T?
It starts at $240 on the shop’s pickup package, which covers the R1T’s two rear door windows and its back glass in LLumar ATC. Ceramic film on the same three panes is priced per package, and the roof is quoted separately.
| R1T glass | Film | From |
|---|---|---|
| Both rear door windows plus the back glass | LLumar ATC dyed | $240 |
| The same three panes in ceramic | LLumar IRX or AIR | Quoted per package |
| Glass roof | Checked first | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front door windows | Any | $160, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield (film inside) | Any | $200; BC allows only the top 75 mm |
You get genuine LLumar film plotted for the R1T, and the lifetime warranty covers both the film and the installation labour. Pickups of every make are set out on the truck window tint page.
Which R1T windows sit behind the driver?
Three panes: the two rear door windows and the back glass of the cab. Rivian Canada describes the R1T’s second row as designed to let in natural light, with room for three car seats, so the rear doors carry a good share of the sun that reaches the cabin.
The back glass is the one with hardware in it. The R1T owner’s guide says the rear defrost clears the rear window and side mirrors using heat, and its window controls deal only with the four door windows. Film goes on the inside face over the heating lines, and if it ever has to be replaced, steam takes it off so the grid isn’t cut.
Rivian doesn’t publish a light-transmission figure for the R1T’s glass. Because film and glass multiply, a 20% film on a pane that already passes 20% leaves about 4% of the light, so judge your own glass in daylight before picking a shade.
Is the R1T’s back glass legal to tint in BC?
Yes, at any darkness. Under MVAR s. 7.05(8), glass behind the driver may carry film, and so may a rear window wherever the vehicle has outside mirrors left and right, which the R1T does: heated, power-folding ones on both front doors. Nothing in the rule treats a pickup’s cab glass differently from an SUV’s hatch.
The front door windows get no film at all, clear included, and the windshield only above the 75 mm line. On the R1T the windshield also carries the front cameras behind the rearview mirror, which Rivian asks owners to keep clear and in good condition. Front film goes on only when an owner asks, after the shop has gone through what can follow: a ticket, a possible Notice & Order, and a failed inspection. The detail is on tinting front windows in BC.
What about the roof over the R1T’s cab?
It’s laminated glass that, by Rivian’s figure, blocks more than 99.9% of UV, so roof film is about heat and glare rather than UV. Rivian’s cargo section talks about the glass roof panels and warns against breaking them with loads, and the 2025 to 2027 guide adds the option of a Dynamic Glass Roof that switches between two levels of haze. Earlier trucks have the fixed-tint roof only. Either way it is quoted after a look, as the panoramic roof tint page explains.
How do you book R1T tint in Langley?
Tell the shop the model year and roof type. Rivian’s own labels are Gen 1 for 2022 to 2024 trucks and Gen 2 from 2025. A typical R1T visit is a single day. Once the film is on, leave the rear door windows closed for three to five days. A slight milkiness or small water bubbles in the first week are normal and dry out without help. Rivian’s cleaning advice for the cab glass, an ammonia-free cleaner on a microfibre cloth, is what tinted windows want too. Text 604 534 6433 or fill in the R1T tint quote form with those details.
