What does window tint cost on a Toyota Highlander?
The rear glass of a Highlander starts at $260 in LLumar ATC, which is the shop’s SUV package: the rear door windows, the quarter glass and the glass in the back door. Ceramic film, the roof and the front glass are priced on top of that.
| Highlander glass | Film | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear doors, quarter glass, back door glass | LLumar ATC dyed | $260 |
| The same windows in ceramic | LLumar IRX or AIR | Quoted per package |
| Moonroof or panoramic roof | Any | Quoted per vehicle |
| Driver’s and front passenger’s doors | Any | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, from the inside | Any | $200, not road-legal in BC |
Each piece is cut on the shop’s plotter from the pattern for your Highlander’s year and fitted by hand, so no blade is run along the glass or the door seals. Film and labour both carry a lifetime warranty. Bundles usually come in below the separate prices added together, so ask for one figure if you want more than the rear package. The full menu sits on the window tint price list.
How dark is a Highlander’s rear glass before any film?
It’s already tinted. Toyota Canada’s 2026 Highlander specifications list rear privacy glass on every grade, gas and hybrid, from the XLE up to the Platinum. Toyota doesn’t publish a light-transmission figure for that glass.
That matters because film and glass stack. A pane letting through a fifth of the light, covered by a film that passes a fifth of what reaches it, ends up near 4%. On a Highlander that usually means choosing a lighter shade than you would for clear glass, or near-clear LLumar AIR 80 if heat is the real goal: LLumar’s spec sheet rates it at 77% visible light with 60% of infrared energy rejected (IRER). The arithmetic is worked through in how dark factory privacy glass is.
Which Highlander grades have roof glass and a head-up display?
Every 2026 grade has glass overhead of some kind, and the windshield equipment grows toward the top of the range. Rear door sunshades are standard across the board.
| 2026 Highlander grade | Roof glass | Wipers | Head-up display |
|---|---|---|---|
| XLE | Power slide and tilt moonroof | Variable intermittent, de-icer | No |
| XSE | Power slide and tilt moonroof | Variable intermittent, de-icer | No |
| Limited | Panoramic moonroof | Rain-sensing | No |
| Platinum | Panoramic moonroof | Rain-sensing | Yes |
Toyota’s 2025 Highlander owner’s manual pairs the panoramic roof with an electronic sunshade, while the smaller moonroof gets a shade you slide by hand. Roof film is quoted apart from the side windows; the sunroof and panoramic roof page covers how it’s fitted. Mention the rear door shades as well, so the installer knows what’s in the door trim before starting.
Will the 2028 Highlander need a different pattern?
Yes. Toyota Canada announced the fifth-generation Highlander in February 2026 as a battery-electric three-row SUV, 60 mm wider and 20 mm lower than the outgoing model, on a 3,050 mm wheelbase instead of 2,850 mm. New proportions mean new glass, so its film is cut from its own pattern.
The glass specification moves on as well. Toyota lists acoustic glass for the windshield and front side windows, an available fixed glass panoramic roof it describes as the largest in its lineup, black painted window trim and available rear window shades. Acoustic glass is laminated, which is covered in tinting acoustic laminated side glass. The fourth generation, revealed in 2019, is the Highlander Toyota Canada still sells for 2026; if that’s yours, the model year and grade are all the shop needs.
What does BC allow on a Highlander’s front glass?
No film on the front doors, and only the top 75 mm of the windshield. MVAR s. 7.05(8) allows film on side windows behind the driver and on the rear window when outside mirrors are fitted on both sides, which every Highlander has.
The windshield also carries the forward camera for Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, standard on every 2026 grade, and the 2025 manual says plainly: “Do not attach window tint to the windshield.” The shop fits front-door film on request, but it isn’t road-legal. Mission RCMP says a tint ticket typically carries a $109 fine, police can order the film removed and the vehicle inspected, and item 13d of the 2025 Vehicle Inspection Manual rejects it. You hear that before you decide; tinting front windows in BC has the rest.
How do you book Highlander tint in Langley?
Send the model year, the grade and whether it’s a hybrid, then the film you have in mind (ATC, IRX or AIR) and whether the roof is part of the job. The shop replies with the rear package price and any extras.
Most Highlanders are finished in a day. Keep the windows closed for three to five days afterwards. Ask for a price on the Highlander tint quote form or ring 604 534 6433. If the front end needs protecting too, see PPF for the Toyota Highlander.
