What does a chrome delete cover on a Cayenne?
Whatever on your Cayenne is still bright or contrasting: typically window trim, lettering, badges, mirror caps and roof rails. The list is short on some versions and longer on others, so the quote is built from photos of your SUV.
| Cayenne | What Porsche says about the trim | Pieces to photograph |
|---|---|---|
| Cayenne, S, E-Hybrid (2024 on) | Two horizontal black bars with painted inlays at the front; a free-standing 3D PORSCHE logo at the rear | Window trim and accents, depending on options |
| GTS, updated in 2024 | Side skirts, front inserts, side window trims, rear diffuser and arch extensions in High-Gloss Black | Little; any remaining bright pieces |
| Cayenne Electric | Side skirts and arch trims in Volcanic Grey Metallic; taillights framed in silver | Window trim and badges |
| Cayenne Turbo Electric | Crests, wheel faces and side window mouldings in Turbonite | The Turbonite mouldings, if you want them black |
Porsche’s 2023 press kit doesn’t spell out the window trim finish on the base Cayenne, and options change it, which is another reason to send photos rather than a trim name.
Is a Cayenne GTS already blacked out from the factory?
Mostly, on the updated GTS Porsche introduced in 2024. The GTS press kit says the side skirts, front inserts, side window trims, rear diffuser and wheel arch extensions of the standard SportDesign package “are now finished in High-Gloss Black”, where earlier GTS models had some of them in body colour.
The same kit names “traditional High-Gloss Black accents” on the window frames and spoiler lip, and moves the tailpipes from black to dark bronze. Porsche Canada adds tinted HD-Matrix LED headlights whose four-point daytime running lights and Diamar-textured finisher are also High Gloss Black. A recent GTS needs little more; an older GTS with body-colour pieces can have them covered to match the newer look.
How do you handle Turbonite and Volcanic Grey trim on a Cayenne Electric?
The same way as chrome: cast vinyl over the piece, in gloss or satin black. Porsche’s Cayenne Electric press kit lists the Turbo’s Turbonite elements as “the Porsche crests, the faces of the alloy wheels and the side window mouldings”.
On the standard Cayenne Electric, the side skirts and wheel arch trims are Volcanic Grey Metallic, a two-tone look Porsche says “emphasises the sporty proportions”. Covering them changes the car’s lines more than a window-trim job does, so look at samples against the paint first. Porsche also sells a Sport Design Package for the Electric in high-gloss black, Carbon or, on the Turbo, Turbonite, which is the factory route to a similar result. For window surrounds on any car, window trim chrome delete explains the process.
Which Cayenne parts stay uncovered?
Lights, and anything in front of a sensor. The Cayenne Electric’s rear light strip is framed in silver around the lamps and lettering, but it’s part of the light assembly and isn’t wrapped as trim.
At the front of the Electric, the movable cooling air flaps are interrupted only by “the centrally placed radar sensor”, per the same kit. The shop checks where sensors sit on your Cayenne before quoting and leaves any trim or emblem over one alone; how that’s decided for badges is set out on badge blackout.
How do you book a Cayenne chrome delete in Langley?
Send the year and version, then close photos of each piece you want black: window surrounds, lettering, crests, mirror caps, roof rails. The quote lists what will be covered and what stays as it is.
Where badges and mirror caps unclip, they’re removed and wrapped whole. Under the shop’s published terms the vinyl has a five-year manufacturer warranty, and heat takes it off again for a lease return or sale; whether a chrome delete is reversible covers that.
