Porsche Cayenne Window Tint in Langley, BC

At a glance

A Porsche Cayenne's rear glass is tinted at Brookswood Tint from $260 in LLumar ATC dyed film, covering both rear doors, the quarter windows and the tailgate glass. Ceramic IRX or AIR is an upgrade priced per package. Roof glass changes from version to version, from the Coupé's fixed panoramic roof to the Cayenne Electric's switchable Variable Light Control roof, so any roof film is quoted once the shop has seen your car.

What does window tint cost on a Porsche Cayenne?

A Cayenne falls under the shop’s SUV rear package: $260 in LLumar ATC dyed film for every window behind the driver, tailgate included. Ceramic film on those windows costs more, with its own package price, and a glass roof is priced on its own.

Cayenne glass What it covers Price
Rear package Both rear doors, the quarter windows and the tailgate glass From $260
Ceramic upgrade The same windows in IRX or AIR Quoted per package
Panoramic or fixed glass roof Depends on the version Quoted per car
Full windshield Fitted from inside the car $200, though BC law stops film 75 mm below the top
Front doors Driver’s and front passenger’s windows On request; not road-legal in BC

The shop’s plotter cuts each piece to your Cayenne’s year and model, so nothing sharp touches the glass or the door seals; heat and hand-fitting do the rest. The film has LLumar’s lifetime limited warranty; the labour has the shop’s. A complete Cayenne usually takes two to four hours.

Which glass roof does your Cayenne have?

It depends on the body and drivetrain, so roof film can’t be priced from a list. Porsche builds three different roofs into the current range.

  • Cayenne SUV, combustion and E-Hybrid. The 2023 press kit for the updated Cayenne lists an optional panoramic roof system and notes that “the accompanying roller blind is always black”.
  • Cayenne Coupé. Here “a fixed panoramic roof in glass comes standard”, per the same kit. Coupés with one of the Lightweight Sports Packages get a carbon roof instead, so there’s no roof glass to film.
  • Cayenne Electric. The optional panoramic sliding roof with Variable Light Control holds a layer of liquid crystals that switches nine segments between clear and matte, with preset “Semi” and “Bold” patterns, according to the Cayenne Electric press kit.

Porsche Canada adds that the switchable roof’s multi-layer build cuts UV and infrared well enough that “a mechanical roller blind is no longer required”. A switchable roof is checked before anything is quoted for it, and the shop will tell you whether film would add anything. Fixed and sliding glass roofs on other Cayennes are covered on sunroof and panoramic roof tint.

How does film work with Porsche’s privacy and insulated glass?

Film goes on the inside face of whichever glass your Cayenne has, and it stacks with factory privacy glass. Porsche doesn’t give a light-transmission number for it, so check the glass on the car before you pick a shade.

Porsche describes its standard side and rear glass as “conventional single-layer safety glass”. Its optional thermally and noise-insulated glass is five layers instead, glass, three films and glass, fitted all round “including in the tiny triangular panes and, of course, the rear window”, and it can be ordered together with privacy glass. The 2023 kit also lists thermally and acoustically insulated glass and a heated windshield among the Cayenne’s options; tell the shop if your build sheet shows either. Insulated side glass is laminated, and whether acoustic laminated side glass can be tinted explains why that doesn’t rule out film.

On dark factory glass the numbers multiply: a 20% film over glass that passes 20% leaves about 4%. More on judging that is in how dark factory privacy glass is.

Where can film legally go on a Cayenne in BC?

Every window behind the driver, at any darkness: the rear doors, the quarter glass and the tailgate window, since every Cayenne carries a mirror on each front door. The front door glass gets nothing, and the windshield only a band in its top 75 mm.

That holds on the Cayenne Electric, whose front doors are frameless. Without a frame they are still the side windows beside the driver under MVAR s. 7.05(8), and clear film counts too. The Coupé’s flatter windshield gets the same 75 mm strip as the SUV’s. Front doors on a Cayenne start at $140, and it fits them only on request after explaining that they’re not road-legal: a ticket typically runs $109, and police can also issue an order to remove it and have the Cayenne inspected. BC’s whole rule, with the fines, is on tinting front windows in BC.

How do you book Cayenne tint in Langley?

Send the model year, the version (Cayenne, S, E-Hybrid, GTS, Turbo E-Hybrid, Coupé or Electric) and whether it has privacy glass or a glass roof. Say which film you’re leaning towards: AIR 80 has 77% visible light transmission and an IRER of 60%, and IRX at its darkest rejects 62% of total solar energy, both on LLumar’s spec sheet.

A silver Cayenne from an earlier generation is among the cars in the shop’s photo library. After your visit, keep the side windows shut for three to five days so the film can cure, and clean them with an ammonia-free product. If the nose needs protecting as well, Cayenne PPF lists those packages. Use the Cayenne tint quote form, or phone 604 534 6433.

Questions about porsche Cayenne window tint

01Does the Cayenne Coupé cost more to tint than the SUV?

The side and tailgate glass is priced on the same $260 SUV rear package. The Coupé's standard fixed glass roof is the part that differs, and it's quoted separately if you want film on it.

02Should I film the Variable Light Control roof on a Cayenne Electric?

Ask before you decide. Porsche says the roof's own layers give strong UV and infrared protection, enough that it has no roller blind, so the shop looks at the roof first and tells you whether film adds anything.

03My Cayenne has dark rear glass from the factory. How dark will film make it?

Darker than either layer alone, because the light the glass lets through is cut again by the film. Porsche doesn't publish a percentage for its privacy glass, so the shop helps you judge it on the car.

04Can a Cayenne be tinted in one day?

Usually, yes. The whole SUV is typically a two-to-four-hour job, with extra time for roof glass or for stripping old film.
