How is a Model S wrap priced?
Car by car, after the shop has seen the year, the finish you want and the parts that need to come off. There’s no published wrap price, because the work moves with those details:
- Coverage. A full colour change takes far more film and time than mirror caps or a hood.
- Trim. Whether the window brightwork stays bright, is covered as part of the wrap, or is done as a separate chrome delete.
- Shuts. Wrapping the door jambs is a separate decision with its own price.
- Film. The finish you pick, and whether it comes from 3M or Avery Dennison, is part of the quote.
The wrap cost page explains how those factors add up. Mention any chips or repainted panels with the request; wrapping over rock chips explains why they matter.
Which finishes can vinyl give a Model S?
Anything outside Tesla’s own table. Tesla’s paint-code table for the 2021+ Model S lists every colour back to 2012, and each one is solid, metallic or tricoat metallic. There’s no satin, no matte and no colour-shift paint in it.
That leaves a few clear reasons to wrap a Model S:
- A low-sheen look, such as satin black or a matte black wrap.
- A colour Tesla never painted, or a colour-shift film that changes with the light.
- A new colour on an early car still wearing a shade Tesla has dropped, such as the Brown or Green it listed for 2012 to 2014.
The factory paint stays underneath the whole time. Whether a wrap can be removed covers what happens when you want the original colour back.
What happens to the brightwork, badges and spoiler?
Each piece is fixed differently, so each gets its own plan. Tesla’s 2021+ manual shows how they’re held:
Window brightwork
The bright trim along the side windows is the body side brightwork. Tesla fastens each side with 12 screws, three clips into the rear quarter glass and a 415 mm strip of one-time 3M tape, and warns that a piece damaged during removal must be replaced. Covering it in place avoids that risk; the chrome delete service does exactly that.
Front badge
The T badge on the nose is screwed, not glued. Tesla’s badge procedure takes out the trim panels under the hood, then three screws, one hidden under the rear lip.
Rear spoiler
The spoiler is bonded to the liftgate with adhesive. Tesla’s spoiler procedure frees it with fishing line, cleans off every trace of the old adhesive and sets it back with a dedicated spoiler jig, warning against damaging the paint. That’s a lot of risk for a small part, so the simpler choices are to wrap around it in place or to wrap the spoiler alone in a contrast finish.
What warranty does a Model S wrap carry in BC?
Five years on the vinyl, per the shop’s published terms, with 3M’s own warranty on its film on top of that. 3M’s terms vary by climate zone and by how a surface is angled. 3M’s zone matrix files Canada under Zone 2.
| Surface on a Model S, 3M 2080, Zone 2 | Term |
|---|---|
| Vertical: doors, fenders, bumper faces | 7 years |
| Horizontal: hood, top of the liftgate | 2 years |
The figures are from 3M’s warranty card. Avery Dennison’s BC zone is still unconfirmed; request Avery’s terms in writing. Wrap lifespan in BC looks at the local factors.
How do you book a Model S wrap in Langley?
Share the year, trim and current colour, then the finish or colour you want and whether the brightwork should go dark too. Note whether the car is leased, and read wrapping a leased car before you commit.
Chip protection for the nose is a film job, not a vinyl one: Model S PPF has the packages. Ask for a wrap price through the wrap quote form, or use 604 534 6433, which handles calls and texts.
