What does tint cost on a BMW 3 Series?
A 3 Series is priced as a sedan, so its rear glass begins at $240 in LLumar ATC. IRX or AIR, the ceramic films, cost more and are quoted package by package, while a roof panel or anything ahead of the driver has its own price.

Which G20 glass details should you mention when you book?
Three things from BMW’s launch kit for the 2019 3 Series change how the shop plans a 2019 to 2026 car.
- Acoustic glass. BMW made acoustic glass standard for the windshield and offered it as an option for the side door windows. If your rear doors have it, say so; the acoustic laminated glass answer explains how film is applied to it.
- The Hofmeister kink. BMW moved its familiar counter-swing at the back of the side windows into the C-pillar, which it says gives the rear doors a “freestanding” glass edge. The rear door film has to follow that shape exactly, and the plotter pattern does.
- The roof. The same kit lists a glass sunroof as standard on the US-market 2019 car. If yours has one, it’s a separate job, explained on sunroof tint.
BMW also fitted a rain sensor as standard and offered a head-up display that projects onto the windshield. Bring the options list if you’re asking about a strip across the top.
What changes on the 2027 BMW 3 Series?
The eighth-generation car puts more glass overhead and more information on the windshield. BMW Canada’s September 2026 release sets out three changes that touch the glass.
- A large panoramic roof with what BMW calls Climate Glass is fitted to every car.
- BMW Panoramic Vision spreads information along the whole lower edge of the windshield, and an optional 3D head-up display sits above it.
- On gasoline models the vertical window seals sit behind the window recess finisher strip, so the side glass meets the body more cleanly.
BMW says the gasoline cars go into production at Dingolfing in November 2026. Ask the shop what roof film would add on top of BMW’s own roof glass before you pay for it.
Which LLumar film suits a 3 Series?

What does BC allow on a 3 Series?
Rear door glass and the back window can be as dark as you like; the front doors can take nothing, and the windshield only a strip no deeper than 75 mm. That’s MVAR s. 7.05(8), and the back window counts because a 3 Series has outside mirrors on the left and right.
The lower windshield, where a 2027 car shows Panoramic Vision, is glass the rule keeps film off anyway. Item 13d of the 2025 inspection manual fails film on a front door whatever its shade, clear film too, and Mission RCMP says a ticket typically costs $109, with removal and inspection orders possible.
