Honda Civic Window Tint in Langley, BC

At a glance

Tinting a Honda Civic sedan at Brookswood Tint starts at $240 in LLumar ATC for the glass behind the front doors: both rear door windows, any fixed quarter glass and the back window. IRX or AIR ceramic is quoted per package, and a Civic Hatchback is priced from its own liftgate glass. In BC, the two front doors can't legally carry film, and the windshield only along its top 75 mm.

What does it cost to tint a Honda Civic?

On a Civic sedan, the glass behind the front doors starts at $240 in LLumar ATC, the shop’s posted price for sedans. Ceramic film on those windows is quoted per package, and the Civic Hatchback gets its own figure because its liftgate glass isn’t a sedan shape.

Civic glass What’s covered From
Sedan rear package Both rear door windows, any fixed quarter glass, the back window $240
IRX or AIR ceramic on the same glass The sedan package in nano-ceramic or clear ceramic film Quoted per package
Civic Hatchback rear glass Rear doors and liftgate glass Quoted per car
Front door windows Driver’s and front passenger’s glass $140, not road-legal in BC
Full windshield, from the inside The whole pane $200, only the top 75 mm is road-legal

What you pay for: LLumar film cut by the plotter for the Civic’s year and body, shrunk and fitted by hand, and a lifetime warranty in two parts, LLumar’s limited one for the film and the shop’s own for the work. Plan on two to four hours for the whole car; most Civics are ready the same day. The window tint price list compares every package.

What glass does Honda fit to the 11th-generation Civic?

The current Civic, on sale since the 2022 model year, was drawn around a lot of glass. Honda’s launch release for the 11th-generation sedan describes “a low horizontal beltline” that gives “an expansive, airy greenhouse”, and says the base of the windshield pillars moved back nearly 2 inches (about 50 mm) compared with the car it replaced. More glass at a low sill means more sun across the back seat, which is the area the rear package covers.

Honda Canada’s 2026 Civic Sedan specification sheet adds the trim detail a tinter needs:

  • Acoustic laminated glass is listed for the windshield on all four sedan trims (LX, Sport, Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid), and for no other pane.
  • The one-touch power moonroof comes on Sport, Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid. The LX has a solid roof.
  • Rain-sensing wipers are fitted only to the Sport Touring Hybrid.

The 2026 Civic Hatchback sheet lists the same acoustic windshield on its Sport, Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid. Neither sheet mentions privacy glass, so Honda publishes no darkness figure for the rear windows.

How are the Civic’s back window and moonroof done?

The back window takes the most hand work on a Civic sedan. Its film is plotter-cut to the outline, heat-shrunk to the curve and squeegeed down by hand over the defroster lines, and no blade touches the glass or the trim.

Old, bubbled film is steamed off rather than scraped, which keeps the defroster grid working, and on most cars the new film goes on the same day. On Sport and hybrid trims the moonroof is a separate line on the quote; roof glass tinting covers how it’s handled.

Can you tint a Civic’s front windows or windshield in BC?

Not legally. Under MVAR s. 7.05(8), film belongs only on glass behind the driver’s seat, on the rear window of a car with two outside mirrors, and in a strip along the top edge of the windshield that reaches no lower than 75 mm. The Civic’s front door glass sits beside the driver, so film there of any shade, clear included, is outside the rule.

The shop fits front doors ($140) or a full windshield ($200) on request and goes through the risk first. Mission RCMP puts the usual tint ticket at $109 and notes that officers can also order the film off and send the car for inspection, where item 13d of the 2025 manual fails any film ahead of the driver’s seat back. A legal windshield strip is a different job: Honda Sensing on this generation reads the road through a single front wide-view camera, so read about windshield tint near an ADAS camera first. Tinting front windows in BC covers the rest of the rule.

Which LLumar film should go on a Civic?

Pick by what bothers you most: heat, glare or privacy. ATC is the dyed base film in the $240 price, IRX is LLumar’s infrared-rejecting nano-ceramic, and AIR keeps the glass close to clear while still cutting heat.

Film Shades From LLumar’s spec sheet
ATC 5, 15, 35, 50% 28–44% total solar energy rejected (TSER)
IRX 5, 15, 35, 50% 50–62% TSER, 59–61% IR energy rejection
AIR 80 Near clear 77% visible light, 43% TSER

All three stop more than 99% of UV. The LLumar spec sheet measures film on clear 6 mm glass, so on a real car the figure multiplies with the glass: as an illustration, film passing 35% of the light on glass that passes 80% lands near 28%. Look at your Civic’s rear windows in daylight before you settle on a shade.

How do you book Civic tint in Langley?

Tell the shop the model year, whether it’s a sedan or a hatchback, the trim and the film you have in mind. The trim settles whether there’s a moonroof to price, and the body style settles which package applies.

Afterwards, leave the rear windows shut for three to five days, then clean them with a soft microfibre cloth and a cleaner without ammonia. Adding the roof or ceramic film? Ask for one figure for the lot, since bundled work usually comes in below the separate prices. Send the details through the quote form for Civic tint, or ring 604 534 6433.

Questions about honda Civic window tint

01Does the $240 sedan price apply to a Civic Hatchback?

No. The $240 package is written for sedans, and the hatchback's liftgate glass is a different shape from a sedan's back window, so it's quoted from the car. Send the year and trim for a figure.

02Does a Civic come with factory privacy glass in the back?

Honda Canada's 2026 Civic specification sheets don't list privacy glass on any trim, so check your own car in daylight. If the rear windows already look darker than the front doors, film adds to that darkness.

03Can the moonroof on a Civic Sport be tinted too?

Yes. Roof glass is priced on its own, apart from the sedan rear package, and the shop quotes it once it knows the trim and the film you want.

04Can I roll the Civic's windows down after tinting?

Keep the rear door windows closed for three to five days so the film can cure. A few water pockets or a faint haze during that first week are normal, and they evaporate without help.
